摘要: Described are methods and systems for identifying processing locations in composite layups. An optical magnetic marker is magnetically supported by a layup tool at a target position, such that a portion of the marker protrudes above the tool processing surface. When a composite layup is placed onto that surface, the protruding portion extends into the layup at a processing location. When the layup is cured, the marker is permanently embedded into the layup. Separating the cured layup from the tool removes the marker from the tool and allows an additional marker to advance into the target position for processing another layup. The embedded marker or, more specifically, marker's reflective surface is used during optical inspection of the layup surface to precisely determine the processing location. In some examples, the marker is consumed while the layup is processed at that location.

摘要: Provided is a method of molding, by using a mold, a component including a metal plate and a thermoplastic resin containing a thermoplastic resin arranged on a surface on one side of the metal plate, the mold including at least a movable mold and a fixed mold including a support portion. Specifically, the molding method includes: an arranging step of arranging a premolded metal plate within the mold; a fixing step of fixing the metal plate by pressing the metal plate against the movable mold with use of the support portion; and a molding step including forming a cavity between the fixed mold and the metal plate by closing the mold, bringing the thermoplastic resin into close contact with the metal plate, and forming an exposed portion by exposing the metal plate out of the softened thermoplastic resin with use of the support portion. With this, without leakage of the thermoplastic resin, a joint region to a metal surface of another component can be reliably secured.

摘要: This process for producing a thermoplastic composite part by laying of at least one thermoplastic composite layer on a tool includes laying on the tool a hardened first ply before the laying of the thermoplastic composite layer. The first ply is produced beforehand to the shape of the tool and includes a first material able to experience an attractive force when it is subjected to a magnetic field, and/or to an electrical potential difference, and includes a second material of a thermoplastic resin that is chemically compatible with the resin of the thermoplastic composite layer. The first ply is clamped to the tool by the effect of a magnetic field, and/or of an electrical potential difference, established at the level of the tool. In one form of implementation, the first ply is produced on a first-ply mold that is preferably of convex shape.

摘要: A system and method for decorating a vegetable, such as a pumpkin, is provided. The system includes a base frame disposed within an aperture defined in the pumpkin, and a cover having a design or image associated therewith that is selectively coupled to the base frame. The base frame may be a flexible, frusto-conical ring that has an outer edge positioned adjacent to an outer surface of the pumpkin. The outer edge may be at least partially formed of a magnetic material, and the cover may be formed of a material that is attracted to the magnetic material of the base frame to selectively attach the cover to the base frame. The system may include a colored sheet positioned behind the cover, and a protective backing positioned behind the colored sheet to provide protection from the heat generated from the light source within the pumpkin.

摘要: The present invention relates to apparatus and methods of vibration. In particular, the present invention relates to apparatus and methods of vibration for tooling in a structure, such as, for example, a fuselage. In one implementation, the tooling comprises at least two conductors that create a force to vibrate the media in the tooling, which improves the compaction of the media in the tooling and the extraction of the media from the tooling. Other implementations may be used for compaction and/or extraction of the media in the tooling.
