The rolled part includes a first curved part having a curved shape in which the film base is folded back with one main surface of the film base facing inward, a second curved part having a curved shape in which the film base is folded back with another main surface of the film base facing inward, and a base layered part located outside the first curved part and the second curved part. The base layered part has a shape in which the film base is rolled in such a way that a portion of the film base that is contiguous with the first curved part and another portion of the film base that is contiguous with the second curved part are layered on one another.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for winding a composite strip onto a spool having a hub in which the strip includes a plurality of laterally spaced apart lengthwise extending rib portions upstanding from the base portion. The method comprises the steps of feeding the strip towards the hub of the spool; driving the fed strip through a roller set so as to plastically deform the strip to give it a curved base portion; and winding the deformed strip onto the hub to form spooled strip, the winding creating tension in the strip. The plastic deformation of the strip through the roller set substantially reduces the tension in the strip that would otherwise occur.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a sealing element which comprises at least a spirally rolled, film-like material made of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), the sealing element over its cord cross-section having a density gradient which increases, starting from the outer side of the sealing element, in the direction towards the center of its cross-section. Furthermore, the present invention provides a sealing element which has a second annular formation which is connected to the first annular formation by means of a flexible-tube-like intermediate region made of the same film-like material. The two annular formations may also be arranged at a predetermined distance from one another.

    摘要: An apparatus for forming coiled tubular assemblies is provided. The apparatus includes a pair of dies formed from a radio frequency (RF) conducting material. The dies each have contoured leading surfaces with these surfaces having grooves with lands between adjacent grooves. The lands of the dies cooperate to form web forming chambers when the pair of dies are moved together in their operative position. In the operative position, the tubes are captured in the aligned grooves with portions of the tubes being squeezed or extruded into the web forming chamber. Application of RF energy to the dies causes the tube portions in the chambers to plasticize and form webs between the coils of the tubes with a predetermined configuration substantially the same as that of the web forming chambers. Both radially coiled and axially coiled tube assemblies are contemplated by the invention. In addition, an easy-to-separate or peel tubular assembly is formed with the above apparatus.
