    Abstract: A tool storage unit includes a housing configured to store a tool. The tool storage unit additionally includes an adjustable wheel assembly coupled to the housing. The adjustable wheel assembly includes a bolt movable between a first position and a second position, a support arm extending outwardly from the housing, a swing arm, and a caster wheel. The swing arm defining a first end and a second end, where the first end receives the bolt and is pivotally coupled to the support arm and the second end is rotatably coupled to the caster wheel. The swing arm is vertically movable between a raised position and a lowered position, where the caster wheel and swing arm are in the raised position when the bolt is in the first position and the caster wheel and swing arm are in the lowered position when the bolt is in the second position.

    Abstract: A crane for lifting and transporting loads includes a handling element, for supporting and handling the loads, and a chassis for transferring the loads of the crane onto a support surface by a contact arranged in contact with the surface, such as wheels. A drive transmission, such as a drive wheel, moves the crane on the support surface. The drive transmission is capable of translating relative to the chassis to adjust the force exerted by the drive transmission upon the support surface. The crane includes a sensor for detecting the force exerted by the drive transmission upon the support surface; and a control unit configured for adjusting the position of the drive transmission relative to the chassis, based on the detection of the sensor.

    Abstract: A patient transport apparatus transports a patient over a floor surface. The patient transport apparatus comprises a support structure and support wheels coupled to the support structure. An auxiliary wheel is coupled to the support frame to influence motion of the patient transport apparatus over a floor surface. The auxiliary wheel is movable to a deployed position with the auxiliary wheel engaging the floor surface and a stowed position with the auxiliary wheel spaced a distance from the floor surface. An actuator assembly including a lift actuator a biasing device, and a biasing load adjustment assembly. The lift actuator is operable to move the auxiliary wheel to the deployed position and to the stowed position. The biasing device configured to bias the auxiliary wheel towards the deployed position.     Abstract: A roller has a wheel, a wheel axle and a pin which protrudes upward from a housing of the roller. A sleeve sits on the pin and is spaced apart from the pin radially and axially upward by a damping material arranged between the sleeve and the pin, the damping material being arranged so that all axial and/or radial contact between the pin and the sleeve is prevented. Alternatively, an attachment damping part can be arranged on a pin of the roller in overlap with the pin, wherein the attachment damping part has an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve, the inner sleeve being spaced apart radially and axially upward by a damping material arranged between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve. The damping material is arranged in such a way that all axial and/or radial contact between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve is prevented.

    Abstract: A patient support apparatus comprises a base supported by caster assemblies with each caster assembly comprising a stem, a caster wheel, and a caster wheel axle. A patient support surface is coupled to the base and is configured to receive a load. One or more load sensors are integrated with at least one of the stem, the caster wheel, or the caster wheel axle for measuring the load. One or more of the caster assemblies can be coupled to a steering motor, which controls orientation of the caster assembly. A controller can control the steering motors based on analyzing the measurements of the load sensor. The load sensors can produce measurements indicative of both vertical load and non-vertical load applied to the caster assembly. The controller can also analyze the measurements of the load sensor to determine the load received by the patient support surface by negating the non-vertical load.

    Abstract: A mobile robot configured to drive on a surface with irregularities, comprising: a chassis having a front end facing a forward direction of travel, a back end, a first side, and a second side. There is a first drive wheel rigidly affixed to the chassis proximate the first side and interconnected to a motor to propel it. There is a second drive wheel rigidly affixed to the chassis proximate the second side and interconnected to a motor to propel it. A first caster assembly is rigidly affixed to the chassis proximate the front end and includes a first caster wheel configured to rotate about a first swivel axis. A second caster assembly is rigidly affixed to the chassis proximate the back end and includes a second caster wheel configured to rotate about a second swivel axis and it includes a compliant member to absorb the irregularities.
