摘要: A wayside device monitoring system is provided that may include wayside equipment control movement of vehicle systems through a segment of a route and/or monitor operation of the vehicle systems. The wayside equipment can record data indicative of the movement that is controlled the operation that is monitored. The monitoring system also can include a communication device coupled with the wayside equipment. The communication device can communicate the data recorded by the wayside equipment to at least one of the vehicle systems as the at least one of the vehicle systems move by the wayside equipment.

摘要: A highway grade crossing gate mechanism having a smart cam system capable of measuring a parameter of the gate mechanism in real time is provided. The gate mechanism includes a DC motor, a cam system, and a controller. The DC motor is coupled to a main shaft for driving a gate arm between a vertical position and a vertical position. The cam system includes manually adjustable cams coupled to the main shaft that move contacts to open or close at some preset angular rotation in order to set operational features of a crossing gate. An internal sensing device is disposed internal to the cam system measuring a parameter of the gate mechanism in real time. A controller controls the motor and receives and stores the parameter. The parameter may be transmitted to an external network giving accurate feedback of the state of the gate mechanism in real time.

摘要: A degradation estimation system includes a processing unit simulating an operation mode of equipment on a corresponding railroad section at each set-up timing based on corresponding railroad section timetable information, and processing respective simulation results, and an estimation unit aggregating respective processing results of the processing unit. The processing unit simulates a travel transition of each training existing in the corresponding railroad section timetable information as a dynamic of each train based on corresponding railroad section timetable information and a running curve, simulates a state change of each track circuit based on the simulation result and railroad track information, and simulates an operational change of the equipment on each track circuit. The estimation unit aggregates the simulation result of the processing unit indicating the operational change of the equipment disposed on each track circuit, and estimates the degradation of the equipment from the aggregation result.

摘要: A highway crossing gate control circuit is provided which minimizes the "pumping" oscillation of a highway crossing gate arm which is driven up by a permanent magnet motor. A preferred embodiment of the control circuit utilizes a p-channel MOSFET in a power down module of the control circuit to restrict power from being applied to the motor when the gate arm is in an up position and is intended to be held in the up position by a hold clear device which acts as a mechanical break. Provision is included for dynamic braking on the gate arm moving downward after an initial drive down mode.

摘要: A train warning device has a ladder frame with barrier sign hingedly mounted for movement by an electric motor between positions folded against the frame between the tracks and upstanding transversely from the tracks. Releasable clamping arms are mounted at the top and bottom of ladder uprights for securement thereof to track ties and enabling passage of a train thereover when folded. A signal receiver/micro computer mounted on the ladder frame controls the motor operation in response to a signal received from a hand held remote controller. A battery mounted on the ladder frame supplies power to the electric motor, signal receiver and other devices such as lamps to ensure independent operation. The barrier sign is profiled as a flagman with a sprung warning arm carrying a stroboscopic lamp. The ladder frame can be used to access the track from an elevated platform.

摘要: A motor controller for use in railway-crossing signal-gate mechanisms is provided herein. The controller is of a cam type which includes a cam assembly having a movable cam insert that cooperates with a cam follower and switch assembly. The switch controls the gate arm raising motor. The cam insert and cam follower are arranged such that when the gate arm approaches the upright position the cam insert slides quickly or snaps to a position, which permits the switch contacts to open quickly, thereby minimizing arcing between the switch contacts. Moreover, with the cam insert in this position, oscillation of the gate arm about the upright position, which is caused by the gate arm striking the arm stops and bouncing back, is minimized.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for monitoring vehicles traversing a dedicated roadway that includes an at-grade crossing. In some implementations, a system includes a central server, a gate system, and sensors. The gate system provides access to an at-grade crossing for vehicles. The sensors are positioned in a fixed location relative to a roadway, the roadway including the at-grade crossing. Each sensor can detect vehicles on the roadway. For each vehicle, each sensor can generate sensor data and observational data from the generated sensor data. Each sensor can determine a likelihood that the detected vehicle will approach the at-grade crossing by comparing the likelihood to a threshold. In response, each sensor can transmit data to the gate system that causes the gate system to allow the autonomous vehicle access to the at-grade crossing prior to the autonomous vehicle reaching the gate system.
