    摘要: Provided is a radiation-shielding glass, including a glass composition in % by mass of 10 to 35% SiO2, 55 to 80% PbO, 0 to 10% B2O3, 0 to 10% Al2O3, 0 to 10% SrO, 0 to 10% BaO, 0 to 10% Na2O, and 0 to 10% K2O, in which the radiation-shielding glass has a total light transmission at a wavelength of 400 nm at a thickness of 10 mm of 50% or higher. Also provided is a radiation-shielding glass which has the similar glass composition and can be used for a gamma-ray shielding glass for a PET examination.

    摘要: A sealing glass composition which has an alkali metal oxide content kept down as much as possible, and can stably join metal or ceramic members together in a temperature range of 600 to 900° C. The sealing glass composition is used to join together members each selected from the group consisting of metal members and ceramic members, and comprises, as essential components, 20 to 50 mol % of SiO2, 1 to 9 mol % of Al2O3, 5 to 25 mol % of B2O3, 10 to 40 mol % of BaO, and 5 to 20 mol % of SrO. ZnO content is 0 to 10 mol %. An alkali metal oxide content is not more than 5 mol %. PbO is substantially not contained. The total content of MgO, CaO, SrO, BaO and ZnO is 30 to 50 mol %.

    摘要: A kind of glass for magnetic head having a property of absorption of light and a property of adhesion in the molten state is produced as follows: CuO and Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 are added to the glass of PbO-B.sub.2 O.sub.3 -SiO phase in order to increase the absorption rate from a laser beam. TeO.sub.2 is added in order to decrease the viscosity of the molten material and to increase the molten viscosity and the wettability to ceramics and ferrite which are bonded. It can be used in the fabrication of the magnetic head and the floating magnetic head. In particular the glass melts easily when irradiated by a xenon arc beam and other lasser beams.
