摘要: An electro-hydraulic control system for actuating a control valve includes a control module. The control module is coupled to the surface via at least one hydraulic line and two electrical power lines. The control module uses one of the hydraulic lines as a “supply” line and the other line as a “return” line if included. Each hydraulic line of the at least one hydraulic lines can be used as an “open” line or a “close” line to open or close the control valve. The control module includes two normally closed (NC) solenoid valves (SOVs) that are coupled to the electrical power lines and can be controlled from the surface to open or close. The opening or closing of the NC SOVs in cooperation with hydraulic pressure on a “supply” line of the hydraulic lines operates (i.e., closes or opens) the control valve.

The controller may be operable to receive one or more conditions associated with the connector and a valve of the wellhead assembly. The controller may also be operable to operate at least one of the connector and the valve through the hydraulic power unit based on the one or more condition.

摘要: A system and a method for reduction or elimination of environmentally harmful or “greenhouse” gases in situations in which gaseous hydrocarbons are flared or vented from an oil and gas well are disclosed. The system configures to inject a chemically reactive, or dispersive, or reactive and dispersive atomized mist into a gas flow line leading to a flare stack. The mist reacts with the gas in the flow line to convert methane to hydrogen and carbon monoxide and to reduce other harmful gases, facilitating a clean-burning, compact flare of blue color due to the presence of primarily hydrogen, some carbon monoxide, and a small amount of residual methane. The hydrogen and carbon monoxide may be captured and stored before reaching the ignition point at the top of the flare stack.

A method can include displacing a flow restrictor, thereby decreasing a flow coefficient Cv of a choke, and decreasing a rate of change of the flow coefficient Cv in response to decreasing the flow coefficient Cv. A drilling system can include a choke with a flow restrictor, and a continuously variable transmission which causes an actuation rate to vary based on a position of the flow restrictor.

摘要: A method of actuating a subsea tree comprising opening a valve assembly by transferring a first volume of fluid into a first chamber and closing the valve assembly from the open position to a shear position via a gas charged valve actuator in response to the transfer of fluid out of the first chamber. Shearing a workstring positioned within an axial bore of the valve assembly with the valve via the gas charged valve actuator. Closing the valve from the shear position to a closed position with one or more gas charged push rods to isolate the wellbore above from the wellbore below the closed valve. The shearing force generated from the gas charged valve actuator is greater than the closing force of the one or more push rods.

摘要: A pressure bleed-off system. The system includes a fluid bypass line having an inlet and an opposing outlet, wherein the inlet is in fluid communication with a high pressure frac line for a hydraulic fracturing operation. The system also includes a high pressure transducer located proximate the fluid inlet, a first plug valve residing along the fluid bypass line, and a first electric actuator residing on the first plug valve. The actuator is configured to rotate the first plug valve between close and open positions in response to command signals from a controller. The controller, in turn, sends the command signals in response to control signals delivered by an operator, remotely. Preferably, the command signals are wireless signals sent from outside of the red zone. The system may also include a second plug valve along the bypass line.

The reversible PDC bit includes at least one blade, at least one front cutter disposed on a first side of the at least one blade, and at least one rear cutter disposed on a second side of the at least one blade, wherein the first side is opposite to the second side along a circumferential direction of the reversible PDC bit, wherein rotating the reversible PDC bit in a clockwise direction engages the at least one front cutter to cut into a subterranean formation, and wherein rotating the reversible PDC bit in a counter-clockwise direction engages the at least one rear cutter to cut into the subterranean formation.

摘要: A technique facilitates use of sensor data, e.g., pressure data, associated with hydraulic control lines. According to an embodiment, a well string is deployed in a borehole and comprises a tool coupled with a hydraulic control line and operated via hydraulic inputs delivered through the hydraulic control line. Additionally, a sensor is coupled to the hydraulic control line to monitor pressure in the hydraulic control line. The sensor may be located permanently downhole proximate the tool. A control module is configured to collect data from the sensor and to compare the data to a baseline pressure profile associated with the tool. The sensor data may be used to determine characteristics related to operation of the tool.
