摘要: Methods and systems for treating components are described. The methods include using a system having a controller, a laser applicator, a coating applicator, and a sensor array. The laser applicator, the coating applicator, and the sensor array are arranged on a treatment arm that is controlled by the controller. The method includes scanning a surface to be treated of the component using the sensor array, cleaning the surface to be treated using the laser applicator, defining surface texture patterns, applying laser texturing, and applying a new coating to the surface to be treated using the coating applicator.

摘要: Thermal insulation blankets and methods of using the same to repair articles, such as components of turbine engines are disclosed. The thermal insulation blankets are a multilayer composite material that includes: a first flexible fiberglass fabric layer having two sides that are coated with a coating that covers the fiberglass fibers; an intermediate second fiberglass insulation blanket layer made of continuous glass fibers; and a third layer of flexible heat reflective material. The method involves wrapping a component, such as a component of a turbine engine, with one or more thermal insulation blankets in order to retain heat within the confines of a prescribed area for installing or removing parts with a precision fitment. The blankets allow enough heat to induce even thermal expansion of the components.

摘要: A repair method for a gas turbine blade. The repair method include: a step of removing a thermal barrier coating to expose at least part of a base material of the gas turbine blade; a first etching step of etching the exposed base material; and a first identification step of identifying a base material deterioration layer that is harder than the base material from the etched base material. The repair method further includes a first removal step of removing the identified base material deterioration layer if the base material deterioration layer is identified in the first identification step; and a step of applying a thermal barrier coating to the exposed base material. The thermal barrier applying step is performed after it is determined that there is no base material deterioration layer in the first identification step, or after the base material deterioration layer is removed in the first removal step.

摘要: Systems and methods to locate the position of cooling holes on an outer surface of a turbine engine component, based on a three-dimensional measurement along an X-axis, a Y-axis, and a Z-axis, and an extracted two-dimensional measurement along the X-axis and the Y-axis. The two-dimensional data is analyzed to find a common geometric feature of the component and determine a scan area based on the common geometric feature. The component is measured within the scan area to locate a cooling hole located on the outer surface of the component. A surface profile of the cooling hole is extracted along the X-axis and the Y-axis, and an orientation of the cooling hole is extracted along the Z-axis. A three-dimensional coordinate set of the cooling hole is calculated based on the surface profile and the orientation.
