    摘要: A large-torque chain-guide type constant ratio/continuously variable transmission is disclosed. The transmission comprises transmission rollers (A, B), an endless transmission chain or belt (C) and two chain guiders (D, E) respectively arranged beside the two transmission rollers. Each chain guider comprises n groups of grooved-pulleys, and each group comprises m grooved-pulleys. Each grooved-pulley rotates freely around a grooved-pulley axis, and an angle α is formed between the axis of at least one grooved-pulley in each group of grooved-pulleys and a roller axis of the transmission roller matched with the same grooved-pulley. The angle α enables the chain entering the chain guider and the chain leaving the chain guider to move a certain axial distance, i.e. a chain distance, on the transmission rollers, wherein the chain distance is required to be larger than the width of the chain or the belt. The endless transmission chain passes sequentially through the pulley groove of at least one grooved-pulley in one group and the driving roller under the guidance of the chain guider, and is guided to a driven roller after winding n circles around both the chain guider and the driving roller. Whereafter, the transmission chain passes sequentially through the pulley groove of at least one grooved-pulley in one group and the driven roller under the guidance of the chain guider, and returns to the driving roller to be closed after winding n circles around both the chain guider and the driven roller. The transmission has small size and compact structure, and can output a large torque.

The pulley halves include truncated conical portions symmetrically opposed to each other and outer surfaces which are axially opposed to each other and sloped relative to the axis. The outer surfaces have a circumferential roughness average (Ra,y) measured in a direction (y) circumferential to the axis between approximately 0.15 and 1.0 micrometer. The outer surfaces have a radial roughness average (Ra,x) measured in a direction (x) radial to the axis, and a ratio Ra,x/Ra,y between approximately 0.5 and 2.5.

    摘要: This design is for a motor vehicle drivetrain utilizing flywheel rotation to store energy during the vehicle trip, either storing energy when accellerated, or releasing energy when slowed depending on the vehicle power requirements. At the same time the engine is allowed to operate at a constant RPM and throttle setting, determined by the best thermal efficiency of the engine selected (the engine itself is not a part of this patent application). The continously variable speeds of the vehicle are made possible by the design's transmissions using sintered metal construction, a cogged drive belt, and a pattern of surface protrusions meshing with the cogged drive belt. The flywheels are slightly offset to allow simple gear meshing, and are counter-rotating to cancel out flywheel precession and torque reaction when providing power to the drive wheels. This eliminates any adverse effect on the vehicle's behavior that might otherwise result such as causing the vehicle to spin on slippery surfaces.

    摘要: The invention relates to a drive device having stepless torque adjustment, especially for cycles. The drive device comprises a drive shaft (13), a first adjusting disc (1) arranged coaxially with the drive shaft (13), into which first adjusting disc (1) a spiral-like cutout (3) is incorporated at least partially about the center of the first adjusting disc (1), a second coaxially arranged adjusting disc (5) into which through slots (6) are incorporated which run outwards from the center of the second adjusting disc (5), and a coaxial segmented ring (27) consisting of individual segments (28) onto the outer periphery of which segmented ring (27) can be placed an endless drive element (30). The segments (28) each have extensions (43) which engage both in the spiral-like cutout (3) and in an allocated through slot (6). One of the said adjusting discs can be driven by the drive shaft (13), whereas the other non-driven adjusting disc can be blocked by means of a blocking device (10a and 10b). When one adjusting disc is blocked and the other rotates, the diameter of the segmented ring (27) can be continuously changed, so that the torque is infinitely adjustable to the desired value.

    摘要: A drive motor that may be an internal combustion engine or an electric motor is operated at substantially constant speed or, in the case of an internal combustion engine, at one of two substantially constant speeds. The speed of travel of the vehicle under various load conditions is varied by a drive control pedal operating a transducer that furnishes one input to a signal processor while a torque transducer in the engine drive shaft provides a second input to the processor. The processor output controls the positioning device that determines the transmission ratio of a continuously variable belt drive transmission by pressing together the halves of one pulley of the belt drive while separating the halves of the other pulley, varying their effective diameter with respect to the wedge-shaped belt in opposite directions. When an internal combustion engine is used as the drive motor, the engine speed can be selectably the maximum-torque speed or the maximum-power speed and the selection can be made automatic by means of limit switches operating at the respective extremes of the variable belt drive control range. When an electric motor is used as the drive motor, a compound-wound motor is operated at a speed in the transition range between behavior mainly as a series-wound motor and behavior mainly as a shunt-wound motor.

In a preferred form, said positive belt contact is achieved by the establishment of an intermeshing drive between the driving and driven cones and their respective cooperating additional cones, between which cones the belt is nipped and urged through its lengthwise movement which results in the transfer of power from the driving cone to the driven cone.
