    摘要: A method is provided for controlling airflow into a furnace that employs a velocity type damper. In one embodiment, the method for controlling airflow may include engaging a velocity type damper to an air port opening of a furnace. The velocity type damper includes at least one air controlling surface that is positioned proximate to a wall of the furnace at the air port opening so that air velocity exiting the at least one air controlling surface is substantially equal to the air velocity entering the air port opening to the furnace. The method may further include adjusting a cross sectional area through the velocity type damper to control air velocity into the furnace through the air port opening.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a reverse flow prevention apparatus for common exhaust flue and a combustion apparatus having same. The reverse flow prevention apparatus for common exhaust flue, which is configured to collect exhaust gas of a plurality of combustion apparatuses, discharge the collected exhaust gas through a common exhaust flue, and prevent a reverse flow of the exhaust gas from the common exhaust pipe to each of the combustion apparatuses, includes a flange coupled to an exhaust port of each of the combustion apparatuses, an opening and closing apparatus hinge-coupled to an upper part of the flange to be opened and closed by a pressure difference between a lower portion and an upper portion thereof, and a body coupled to the upper part of the flange so as to accommodate the opening and closing apparatus. In accordance with the present invention, the reverse flow prevention apparatus, which may be directly installed at the exhaust port of the combustion apparatus, is coupled to the common exhaust flue upon installation thereof so that a separate certification may not be required to reduce time and costs for a certification.

    摘要: A wood stove damper assembly includes a damper plate, a through shaft, and a cross shaft. The damper plate includes a plurality of risers and a plurality of through shaft guides. The through shaft includes a bore and the cross shaft is configured to engage the bore and the risers. The cross shaft is inserted through the bore in the through shaft such that the cross shaft engages the risers when installed. The damper assembly also includes a fastener applied to the end of the through shaft. When installed in a chimney pipe, the fastener is tightened to pull the through shaft, which pulls the cross shaft against the risers, which pulls the edge of the damper plate against the interior of the chimney pipe to hold the damper plate in any position. Methods for manufacturing and installing a damper assembly are also disclosed.

    摘要: A flow control has a rotary gate residing within an internal flow space in a conduit. The gate is mounted for movement relative to the conduit between first and second positions, the gate in the first and second positions accounting for a different flow rate between first and second fluid masses between which the gate resides. The gate has an actuator with a plurality of spaced shoulders. A flexible force-applying member is connected to the actuator and bears upon the shoulders to thereby urge the gate towards the other of the first and second positions. The shoulders are situated so that the number of shoulders engaged by the force-applying member at any one time is not the same as the gate moves from the one of the first and second positions towards the other of the first and second positions.

    摘要: A rectangular air inlet control plate is pivotably mounted in the air intake passage of a forced air furnace to control the air intake volume and, thereby, insure optimal combustion of the fuel in the furnace. The plate is adjustably counter-balanced to a closed position and is further adjusted to allow the optimum volume of air intake during operation of the forced air furnace. The rectangular shape of the plate provides for fast opening and closing of the air intake during startup and shutdown transients, since the actuation angle of the plate is reduced in proportion to its length. The plate is mounted in a funnel-shaped air intake structure to reduce the noise and allow a maximum volume of air to enter the intake. A windscreen is mounted on the funnel-shaped air intake in order to act as a turbulence breaker for the incoming air, and also to prevent ingestion of large debris into the air intake.
