摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to methods for preparing porous separators used in battery technology, such as within an electrochemical cell. In one or more embodiments, a method of preparing a porous separator for an electrochemical cell is provided and includes placing a mixture containing a polymer precursor composition and a porogen onto a surface and forming a polymeric film on the surface from the mixture by a polymerization process. The polymeric film contains pores distributed throughout a polymeric material. The pores are formed during the polymerization process and the porogen is disposed within the pores. In one or more examples, the polymeric film is formed by a polymerization-induced phase separation (PIPS) process and contains about 20 wt % to about 70 wt % of the porogen.

摘要: A method of preparing a composite separator for a lithium battery includes: coating a binder composition on one side or both sides of a porous substrate; hot-air drying the porous substrate coated with the binder composition; and supplying a non-solvent during the hot-air drying, such that a porous layer is on one side or both sides of the porous substrate, wherein the binder composition includes a good-solvent, a binder, and inorganic particles, an amount of the non-solvent supplied during the hot-air drying is from 12 g/m3 to 17 g/m3, and a ratio (e) of the hot-air supply speed to the moving speed of the porous substrate per unit transit time in the hot-air dryer is from 2.2 to 5.0.

摘要: New or improved battery separators for lead-acid batteries that include a carbon or mineral additive applied to the separator. In possibly preferred embodiments, the battery separator may include engineered carbon materials applied to the battery separator to modify sulfate crystal formation while decreasing the detrimental consequences of excessive gas evolution into the negative electrode itself. In one embodiment, a method of enhancing the lead-acid energy storage performance of a lead-acid battery may include delivering carbon to the negative active material surface of the battery separator where the carbon may effectively enhance charge acceptance and improve life cycle performance of a lead-acid battery.

摘要: A coating slurry, a coated separator, a preparation method of the coated separator, and a battery including the coated separator are provided. The coating slurry includes: a solvent, an adhesive polymer resin, and a photoinitiator, where a weight proportion of the photoinitiator in the coating slurry is 0.08 wt % to 1.0 wt %; and the adhesive polymer resin includes one or a combination of two or more of a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-based adhesive polymer resin, a polyimide (PI), a polyetherimide (PEI), and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). When the weight proportion of the photoinitiator in the coating slurry is controlled at 0.08 wt % to 1.0 wt %, the photoinitiator can well penetrate into separator substrate layers after the coating slurry is coated on a membrane to ensure that enough reactive free radicals are produced by the photoinitiator in the membrane, a ceramic layer, and a combined interface layer.

摘要: A cell for a secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same. The cell for a secondary battery includes at least one negative electrode and at least one positive electrode. Each negative electrode and positive electrode are stacked alternately with a separator interposed therebetween, wherein at least one separator includes a plurality of coated portions on at least one surface spaced apart from one another, and each coated portion includes a gas adsorbent and an adhesive binder. According to the cell for a secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same, it is possible to minimize gases trapped in the cell of the secondary battery and to ensure the adhesion between the separator and the electrodes.

摘要: Methods for manufacturing a solid electrolyte membrane are provided, which allow visual determination of how much a porous sheet is filled with a solid electrolyte material, and thus can optimize selection of materials and manufacturing processes of a solid electrolyte membrane in a simple manner. The resulting solid electrolyte membrane can reduce the manufacturing cost and allow easy deformation, and thus can be processed with ease when it is applied to batteries having various shapes. Further, since the solid electrolyte membrane according to the present disclosure includes a composite of a porous polymer material, such as a nonwoven web, with a solid electrolyte material, it has excellent strength and allows formation of a thin film, and thus provides a battery with improved energy density advantageously.
