摘要: Methods and apparatuses to selectively present and customize user prompts in establishing anonymized communication connections, based on available information about the parties to be connected and/or user preferences. For example, the information can be transmitted from a mobile device to a connection server for association with the communication reference of the mobile device in response to an input from the user of the mobile device. The association is configured to expire after a predetermined period of time. During the predetermined period of time, if a connection server receives a call from the mobile device, the information associated with the communication reference of the mobile device is used to customize the interactive voice response prompts for further connecting the call to a service provider.

摘要: A method for resource reservation executed by a network element of a mobile communication network for a communication connection between a mobile device and a communication destination includes: receiving a request for establishing the communication connection between the mobile device and the communication destination originating from an application of the mobile device; determining the type of application requesting the communication connection between the mobile device and the communication destination; estimating the required Quality of Service (QoS) for the requested communication connection with respect to the upload and/or download requirements under consideration of the type of application requesting the communication connection between the mobile device and the communication destination; checking whether the communication connection between the mobile device and the communication destination can provide the estimated required QoS; and reserving if possible the resources for the communication connection between the mobile device and the communication destination to provide the required QoS.

摘要: Establishing a connection from a caller to a user using a pre-authorized credit from the user is described. A processor identifies one or more source identifications (IDs) for receiving pre-authorized credit for the incoming call. One or more destinations are specified to receive the incoming call. The processor defines a rule associated with the one or more destinations and the one or more source IDs. An interface receives the incoming call directed to one of the destinations from the caller. A storage area stores the defined rule. The incoming call and the caller are determined as a function of the one of the destinations, one or more identified source IDs and the defined rule. The pre-authorized credit is issued for the incoming call from the caller if it is determined that the incoming call to the destination satisfies the defined rule. The processor routes the incoming call to the user.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide methods, systems, and computer-readable media for achieving a higher call completion rate in a system experiencing a mass calling event. The present invention has several practical applications in the technical arts including optimizing use of network resources during a mass calling event. In various embodiments, a network's resources are efficiently utilized by way of sampling a network element's control processing unit utilization. Additionally, the various embodiments respond by selecting to negatively acknowledging callers in a mass calling event state in order to prevent system components from becoming overloaded. Overloaded network system components lead to such issues as dropped signaling packets, and higher percentages of call failures. Embodiments of the invention are directed to achieving optimal call completion in the case of a mass calling event.

摘要: A method and system are disclosed for implementing a tele-work service in an advanced intelligent network comprising a first service switching point connected to a first telephone station; a second service switching point connected to a second telephone station; and a service control point having a database that receives routing information for specifying routing of calls originally directed to the first telephone station and billing information for specifying billing of calls placed from the second telephone station. The method comprises the following steps: at the first service switching point, upon receipt of a call directed to the first telephone station, forwarding a request for routing information to the service control point; at the service control point, forwarding routing information to the first service switching point; at the first service switching point, routing a call originally directed to the first telephone station either to the first telephone station or the second telephone station depending upon the routing information; at the second service switching point, upon receipt of a call from the second telephone station, forwarding a request for billing information to the service control point; at the service control point, forwarding billing information to the second service switching point; and at the second service switching point, billing a call received from the second telephone station to either the first telephone station or second telephone station based upon the billing information.

摘要: Seizable connection-associated switching devices emit processing requests for incoming information to a central sequential logic system. Processing requests differ on the basis of different urgency degrees which are defined by type of appertaining, connection-associated switching devices. A limit value is set in an occupation non-acceptance device based on the measure of the momentary sequential logic system load. The processing request are rejected (or accepted) by way of a comparison of the respective urgency value to the limit value which is carried out by way of the occupation non-acceptance device, being rejected (or accepted) when the urgency value is lower (or greater) than the limited value. Connection-associated switching devices having the same urgency degree are combined in different urgency groups having different urgency subvalues on the basis of their addresses. Acceptance, as well as rejection, of seizures by the occupation non-acceptance device is also carried out according to these urgency subvalues whose mutual prioritization is cyclically interchanged in uniform time intervals.

摘要: A method and apparatus for detecting and managing overloads in a telecommunications exchange having a central processor for controlling certain operations of the exchange, line/trunk groups connected to the central processor which include telecommunication trunks and/or subscriber lines, and a switching network connected to the central processor and to the line/trunk group which enables telecommunication trunks and/or subscriber lines to communicate with one another. The exchange also includes apparatus for sending a message to the central processor whenever the telecommunication trunks and/or subscriber lines are to communicate with one another, and apparatus for the central processor to receive the message and send a responsive message back to the line/trunk group. Detection of the system overload is based upon the time for the central processor to send a responsive message to the line/trunk group, and management of this overload is accomplished by the line/trunk group changing between operational levels in response to the measured time.

摘要: An automatic message billing arrangement for use with a telephone system is disclosed. The billing arrangement monitors the trunks to ascertain when a trunk is seized for service. In response to a trunk being seized, the common control markers, which establish connections between the lines and trunks, are interrogated to determine which marker has seized the detected trunk. When the marker is found, the identity of the calling line to be connected to the trunk is ascertained from the marker. The calling line identity and trunk identity are used in recording the initial billing entry.
