摘要: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for encoding or decoding a video signal. The method for processing a video signal according to the present invention uses a merging mode in which prediction information on a neighbor unit is used instead of transmitting prediction information on the present unit, so as to improve coding efficiency. In this case, the number of available candidate units for merging among the units in a predetermined position is determined, and information for the merging mode is acquired on the basis of the number of the available candidate units for merging. The unit to be merged is determined using the information for the merging mode, and prediction information on the unit to be merged is acquired. The prediction value for the present unit is acquired using the prediction information on the unit to be merged, and the present unit is restored using the acquired prediction value.

摘要: According to one embodiment, an image encoding method includes selecting a motion reference block from an already-encoded pixel block. The method includes selecting an available block including different motion information from the motion reference block, and selecting a selection block from the available block. The method includes generating a predicted image of the encoding target block using motion information of the selection block. The method includes encoding a prediction error between the predicted image and an original image. The method includes encoding selection information identifying the selection block by referring to a code table decided according to a number of the available block.

摘要: Disclosed are systems and techniques for efficient real-time codec encoding of video files. In one embodiment, the techniques include obtaining a first plurality of motion vectors of a first resolution, generating a second plurality of motion vectors of a second resolution, and calculating a first cost of the motion vector using a first cost function of a first size. The techniques include selecting a subset of motion vectors of the second plurality of motion vectors, calculating a second cost using a second cost function of a second size, and generating a plurality of combined motion vectors based on the subset of motion vectors. The techniques include calculating a third cost using the second cost function of the second size, selecting a final motion vector, and generating, based on the selected final motion vector, a block of predicted pixels that approximates a block of source pixels of an image frame.

摘要: There is disclosed a method of encoding an input signal, the method comprising: receiving a base encoded signal, the base encoded signal being generated by feeding an encoder with a down-sampled version of an input signal; producing a first residual signal by: decoding the base encoded signal to produce a first decoded signal; and using a difference between the base decoded signal and the down-sampled version of the input signal to produce the first residual signal; producing a second residual signal by: correcting the base decoded signal using the residual signal to create a corrected decoded version; up-sampling the corrected decoded version; and using a difference between the up-sampled corrected decoded signal and the input signal to produce the second residual signal; wherein the up-sampling is one of bilinear or bicubic up-sampling. A corresponding decoding method is also disclosed.

摘要: An image decoding method according to the present document comprises the steps of: receiving a quantized transform coefficient for a target block and a transform index for non-separable quadratic transform; deriving transform coefficients by inversely quantizing the quantized transform coefficient; deriving corrected transform coefficients on the basis of a transform kernel matrix in a predetermined transform set indicated by the transform index; and deriving residual samples for the target block on the basis of inverse linear transform for the corrected transform coefficients, wherein when the target block is divided into a predetermined number of sub-blocks and is coded by intra prediction, the corrected transform coefficients are derived in units of the sub-blocks, and the transform index is received for the target block.

摘要: The coding efficiency of predictive picture codecs using transform-based residual coding is enhanced by allowing the codec to switch between a set of transforms for the sake of the transform-based residual coding. It turned out that even when using explicit signaling from encoder to decoder in order to signal the actual transform to be used out of the set of transforms from encoder to decoder, an increase in coding efficiency may result. Alternatively, the switching between the set of transforms may be performed without explicit signaling at all, or using a combination of explicit signaling and some sort of prediction of the switching.

An apparatus includes a video encoder (200) for encoding at least a block in a picture by transforming a residue of the block to obtain transform coefficients, quantizing the transform coefficients to obtain quantized transform coefficients, and entropy coding the quantized transform coefficients. The quantized transform coefficients are encoded using a flag to indicate that a current one of the quantized transform coefficients being processed is a last non-zero coefficient for the block having a value greater than or equal to a specified value.
