Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composite ceramic material for fuel cells and to a production method therefor. The composite ceramic material for fuel cells comprises a wick structure in which perovskite type ceramic particles of small particle size surround the circumferences of lanthanum cobaltite particles of large particle size, and the lanthanum cobaltite is synthesized in the process for synthesizing the perovskite type ceramic particles, by also being added as a starting material. The composite ceramic material for fuel cells of the present invention improves the electrical connecting characteristics between the separator plates and the polar plates of fuel cells, and is both chemically and mechanically stable.
Abstract:
A method of the controlling the chemical and physical characteristics of a body formed from a powder precursor, including measuring a predetermined amount of a first particulate precursor material, wherein the first particulate precursor material defines a plurality of respective generally spherical first phase particles, adhering second phase particles to the respective first phase particles to define composite particles, forming the composite particles into a green body, and heating the green body to yield a fired body. The second phase particles adhered to the first phase particles are substantially uniformly distributed and a respective first phase particle defines a first particle diameter that is at least about 10 times larger than the second phase diameter defined by a respective second phase particle. The composite particles define a predetermined composition.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Barium titanate-based particles having a coating comprising an oxide, hydrous oxide, hydroxide or organic acid salt of a metal other than barium or titanium, wherein at least 90 percent of said particles have a particle size less than 0.9 micrometer when said particles are dispersed by high shear mixing, useful in the fabrication of thin, fine-grained dielectric layers for multilayer ceramic capacitors with high breakdown voltage.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A PCD body comprises a skeletal mass of inter-bonded diamond grains defining interstices between them. At least some of the interstices contain a filler material comprising a metal catalyst material for diamond, the filler material containing Ti, W and an additional element M selected from the group consisting of V, Y, Nb, Hf, Mo, Ta, Zr Cr, Zr and the rare earth elements. The content of Ti within the filler material is at least 0.1 weight % and at most 20 weight %. The content of M within the filler material is at least 0.1 weight % and at most 20 weight %, and the content of W within the filler material is at least 5 weight % and at most 50 weight % of the filler material.
Abstract:
Nano- and micron sized metal oxide and mixed metal oxide particles are injected into a high temperature region wherein the temperature is between about 400°C and less than 2000°C, and collected as particles or as coatings wherein a particulate nature is substantially maintained. The particles are altered in at least one of phase, morphology, composition, and particle size distribution, and may achieve further changes in these characteristics by coinjection of metal oxide precursor in liquid form.
