Disclosed are fluorovinyl ether functionalized aromatic diesters and derivatives thereof. The compounds disclosed have utility as functionalized monomers and comonomers in polyesters, polyamides, and the like. It has been found that incorporation of the monomers into polymers provides improved soil resistance to shaped articles produced from the polymers.
Abstract:
The efficiency of catalysed batch esterification reactions is improved by the use of a particular temperature and pressure profile during the reaction cycle. In particular elevated pressure is maintained to prevent alcohol boil off during initial mixing and reaction of the reactants prior to any catalyst addition, and preferably the pressure is reduced rapidly after the desired reaction temperature has been reached.

Di-, tri-, and/or tetra-(meth)acryloyl-containing materials and compositions are provided. Such materials and compositions can preferably be hardened, without undue shrinkage, to provide hardened materials and/or compositions with properties useful, for example, in dental applications. In one aspect, the present invention provides a compound of the formula (Formula I) wherein: each X independently represents an oxygen atom (O) or a nitrogen atom (N); Y and A each independently represent an organic group, with the proviso that Y does not represent -NHCH 2 CH 2 - if (i) p = O and R 1 represents -C(O)C(CH 3 )=CH 2 , and/or (ii) q = 0 and R 2 represents -C(O)C(CH 3 )=CH 2 ; m = 1 to 5; n = 0 to 5; p and q are independently 0 or 1; and R 1 and R 2 each independently represent H, -C(O)CH=CH 2 , or -C(O)C(CH 3 )=CH 2 .

A type of novel compounds having the symmetric structure of formula I, which can inhibit the congregation and fibrosis of ß-amyloid protein, their pharmaceutically accepted salts, and preparation methods thereof. The pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds or their pharmaceutically accepted salts, and the uses of these compounds or their pharmaceutically accepted salts or their pharmaceutical compositions for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of an Alzheimer's disease. The compounds or their pharmaceutically accepted salts discloses in present invention can inhibit the congregation and fibrosis of ß-amyloid protein by combining with Aß polypeptide. So they can be used to prevent or treat Alzheimer's diseases.

Olefin compositions comprising C 5 to C 13 branched chain olefins are stabilised by the addition of 5 to less than 50 ppm by weight of antioxidant. These lower than normal amounts of antioxidant enable improved yields in a hydroformylation reaction using the olefin composition as feedstock and in esterification reactions employing the alcohol produced in the hydroformylation reaction. Consistent lower levels of antioxidant can be achieved by use of a liquid antioxidant and a pump driven dosing system.

Compounds are disclosed with activity towards killing dysproliferative cells in vitro and treating cancer in vivo. Cancers such as cancer of the colon, pancreas, prostate, lung, breast, urinary bladder, skin and liver are exemplary. Compounds, pharmaceutical compositions and methods of use are described.
