Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for corrosion protection of an iron- containing substrate wherein a first zinc-nickel alloy layer, a second zinc-nickel alloy layer and a black passivate layer are deposited onto the substrate. The nickel concentration in the second zinc-nickel alloy layer is higher than the nickel concentration in the first zinc-nickel alloy layer. The substrate surface obtained is homogenously black with an appealing decorative appearance and both resistance against white rust and red rust are improved.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to an apparatus and a method for the electrolytic deposition of a zinc or zinc alloy layer on a workpiece, the apparatus comprising a container to hold the metal plating bath divided into at least two compartments with an electrode assembly in the container, the assembly comprises in a first compartment a soluble anode to provide ions of the at least one metal to be deposited and a cathode corresponding to the workpiece to be metal plated and in an anolyte compartment separated from the first compartment by an ion exchange membrane comprises an insoluble anode and wherein the electrode assembly in the compartments are connected by an adjustable power supply.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method of fabricating a solar cell involves electroplating a Group IIB-VIA material as a first or sub-layer over a junction partner layer, and then forming a second layer, also of a Group IIB-VIA material over the sub-layer. Both the sub-layer and the second layer comprise Te. The electroplating is performed at relatively low temperatures, as for example, below 100°C. Forming the sub-layer by low temperature electroplating produces a small grained compact film that protects the interface between the sub-layer and the junction partner during the formation of the second layer.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of corrosion resistant two layer plating of zinc and zinc-nickel for linear or complex shaped parts is described. Such layers possess a very homogeneous thickness distribution and corrosion protection with the advantage of not using high concentrations of strong complexing agents (e.g. amines or ammonia). Furthermore, the layers have good ductility.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous, alkaline electrolyte bath, devoid of cyanide, for depositing zinc alloy layers on substrate surfaces, said bath containing cationic pyridinium compounds as brighteners and polyamines as complexing reagents. The electrolyte bath is suitable for the deposition of glossy, uniform zinc alloy coatings.
