Abstract:
A method of camouflaging a tonal imperfection comprising the steps of: identifying a skin tone of a user comprising a tonal imperfection; instructing the user to select a pigmented cosmetic composition adapted to camouflage the tonal imperfection based on the user's skin tone; selecting the pigmented cosmetic composition; and selectively targeting and depositing the pigmented cosmetic composition substantially only onto the tonal imperfection; wherein the pigmented cosmetic composition comprises an average composition L* value of about 10 to about 40 units greater than an average skin L* value of the user. The pigmented cosmetic composition can comprise a particular set of L*C*h* values such that when deposited onto tonal imperfections, it can result in natural, flawless looking skin, while still remaining substantially undetectable to the naked eye.
Abstract:
Included are embodiments for providing a service station routine. Some embodiments of a system include a service station for receiving a handheld jet dispensing apparatus and a memory component that stores logic. When the logic is executed by a processor, the logic may cause the system to, in response to the service station receiving the handheld jet dispensing apparatus, identify the handheld jet dispensing apparatus, where identifying the handheld jet dispensing apparatus includes determining a time of a previous maintenance to the handheld jet dispensing apparatus. In some embodiments, the logic causes the system to determine whether the time of the previous maintenance meets a predetermined threshold, in response to determining that the time of the previous maintenance meets a predetermined threshold, determine a desired maintenance routine to execute and execute the desired maintenance routine, and record a current time as the time of the previous maintenance.
Abstract:
A cartridge assembly for modifying a treating surface, having a body that defines a reservoir that has a standpipe. The reservoir stores a treatment composition. The body comprises a reservoir wall and a die wall that collectively define a reservoir volume. The standpipe is defined by a standpipe wall that extends into the reservoir from a standpipe base, wherein the standpipe base comprises a portion of the die wall. The standpipe base and the standpipe wall collectively define a standpipe volume. The ratio of the reservoir volume to the standpipe volume is from about 50:1 to about 3:1, preferably from about 20:1 to about 4:1, and more preferably about 8:1. Further, the ratio of the surface area of the die wall to the standpipe base is from about 1.1:1 to about 3:1.
Abstract:
A cosmetic composition for use on eyelashes and/or eyelids that includes from about 15% to about 50%, by weight, of a film former selected from the group consisting of tall oil glyceride, pentaerythrityl rosinate, glyceryl rosinate, and the hydrogenated versions and mixtures thereof. Further there is from about 0.1% to about 14%, by weight, of a colorant. The cosmetic composition is long lasting and has excellent wear characteristics.
Abstract:
Bleed-resistant microparticles comprising at least one colorant, a process to produce them, compositions containing them and their use in skin care applications to produce a natural, textured tone effect.
Abstract:
A cosmetic system comprising, in combination: (a) a cosmetic applicator comprising a substantially longitudinal stem having a major axis A and a plurality of protrusions extending therefrom, wherein at least two adjacent protrusions are spaced from one another at a distance R at the base of the stem; (b) a cosmetic composition comprising primary particles that are at least about 5 microns in equivalent diameter; and (c) a dermatologically acceptable carrier.
Abstract:
A cosmetic composition comprising (A) a first structured and adhesive film-forming fatty phase comprising (i) one or more lipidic components that are mutually compatible with one another when liquefied; (ii) at least one adhesive film-forming agent; and (iii) at least one lipophilic structuring agent in an amount effective to retain a second fatty phase entrapped in said cosmetic composition prior to application on mammalian keratinous tissue; and (B) a second fatty phase comprising at least one non-volatile lipidic component wherein said second fatty phase (B) is incompatible with said first structured and adhesive film-forming fatty phase (A) and said second fatty phase (B) is entrapped in said composition where upon application of said composition to mammalian keratinous tissue, said second fatty phase (B) readily separates from said composition to form a barrier layer over said first structured and adhesive film-forming fatty phase (A) and wherein said composition is substantially free of surfactants such that separation of said second fatty phase (B) from said composition is not prevented following application of said composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a personal care product containing a polymeric gel network produced by the process of crosslinking an organopolysiloxane polymer and swelling the organopolysiloxane polymer to form a gel network by introducing liquids including one or more active agents, where the active agents are entrapped in the gel network. The liquids of the product may optionally include one or more solvents.
Abstract:
The present invention is for cosmetic compositions where upon application forms a film. The applied composition provides significant wear benefits improvement to the user. These compositions comprise the combination of organosiloxane resins and fluid diorganosiloxane resins with a volatile carrier.
Abstract:
A service station for servicing a handheld jet dispensing apparatus includes a fluid jet cartridge carrying a composition and a camera for capturing an image of a surface includes a body having a docking portion that is sized to receive the jet dispensing apparatus. A servicing portion is located adjacent the docking portion. The servicing portion is configured to receive a servicing cassette and to position the servicing cassette for interaction with nozzles of fluid jet cartridge of the jet dispensing apparatus for a cartridge servicing operation. An actuator is configured to move the servicing cassette during the cartridge servicing operation relative to the fluid jet cartridge of the handheld treatment apparatus with the handheld treatment apparatus in the docking portion.
