Thus, in one embodiment, the invention provides a particulate FCC catalyst comprising about 5 to about 60 wt% one or more zeolites, about 10 to about 45 wt% quasicrystalline boehmite (QCB), about 0 to about 35 wt% microcrystalline boehmite (MCB), greater than about 0 to about 15 wt% silica from sodium stabilized colloidal silica, greater than about 0 to about 30 wt% silica from ammonia stabilized or lower sodium colloidal silica, and the balance clay and the process for making the same. This process results in attrition resistant catalysts with good performance.

A process of producing oxymethylene ethers comprising the steps of: a) contacting hydrogen gas and CO and/or CO 2 with a mixture of methanol and a catalyst at conditions of temperature and pressure to support hydrogenation of the CO and/or CO 2 gas in the synthesis gas to oxymethylene ethers; the catalyst comprising: i. catalytic material being at least one metal selected from the group of Ni, Ru, Cu, Pt and Pd; and ii. an acidic catalyst support being at least one selected from the group of zeolites, alumina, amorphous silica-alumina and silica; and b) separating the oxymethylene ethers from the catalyst. Also disclosed herein is a catalyst for the production of dimethoxymethane from synthesis gas in a single contacting step comprising i. catalytic material comprising at least one metal selected from the group of Ni, Pt, Ru, Cu and Pd; and ii. an acidic catalyst support comprising at least one support selected from the group of zeolites, alumina, amorphous silica-alumina and silica.

Zn-promoted and/or Ga-promoted cracking catalysts, such as cracking catalysts comprising an MSE framework zeolite or an MFI framework zeolite can provide unexpectedly superior conversion of branched paraffins when used as part of a catalyst during reforming of a hydrocarbon fuel stream. The conversion and reforming of the hydrocarbon fuel stream can occur, for example, in an internal combustion engine. The conversion and reforming can allow for formation of higher octane compounds from the branched paraffins.

The present invention is in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. Particularly, the present invention relates to a process for preparing catalysts advantageously usable in the hydrotreatment processes, for example in hydrodesulphurization, hydrodenitrogenation, hydrodearomatization processes of hydrocarbons. More in particular, the present invention relates to a process for obtaining said catalysts, which comprise mixed oxides of Nickel, Aluminum, Molybdenum and Tungsten and optionally a transition metal Me selected from the group consisting of Zn, Mn, Cd, and a mixture thereof, an organic component C, and possibly an inorganic binder B. Said mixed oxides comprise an amorphous phase and a pseudo-crystalline phase isostructural to Wolframite.
