摘要: A profile body (31) of a not liquefiable material is used as a connecting element between a first object (1) and a second object (2). The profile body may especially be metallic and/or may be bendable. The profile body, in contrast to a conventional wire, however, has a shape defining a first and a second undercut. The method comprises embedding the profile body in the second object so that the second undercut is within material of the second object, and embedding the profile body within material of the first object so that the first undercut is within the first object, and wherein at least embedding of the profile body in the first object is caused by mechanical energy impinging on the first object and/or on the second object while the first object and the second object are pressed against each other.

摘要: In accordance with an aspect of the invention, a method of bonding together a first object (1) and a second object (2) having a flat part and an opening (20) defining a contour is provided. The second object has a fastening portion (23) having a coupling structure defining an undercut and running around a periphery of the opening. The method comprises positioning the first object relative to the second object in the opening, and providing a thermoplastic material along the contour, causing a relative force between the second and first objects and impinging the assembly of the first and second object with mechanical vibration until at least a flow portion of the thermoplastic material becomes flowable and flows into the coupling structure, and causing the thermoplastic material to re-solidify.

摘要: A rotary mechanism for cutting and/or sealing a web has a pair of counter-rotating rotors (2a, 2b) mounted on parallel axes and having radially projecting arms (4) between which the web is momentarily gripped for cutting and/or sealing. Sealing is performed by heated pressure outer faces (20) on the rotor arms. Cutting is performed by cutter and anvil bars (42, 44) on the opposed arms (4) engaging the web. Bearer faces (26a, 26b, 32) on the arms beyond the pressure faces set a gap between the pressure faces and a rectangular-section tongue (28) and groove (30) in mating contact faces one side of the pressure faces locate the pressure faces laterally. The cutting means are adjusted by a wedge bar (60) bearing on the inner face of the cutter bar or anvil.

The method includes welding the first piece of fabric to the second piece of fabric at a seam (44) and sewing the first piece of fabric to the second piece of fabric using a stitch (48) that crosses the welded seam. An example method includes ultrasonically welding a first piece of fleece fabric to a second piece of fleece fabric followed by stitching along and across the welded seam completely through the fabric layers using a zig-zag stitch. The system includes a first piece of fabric, a second piece of fabric fused to the first piece of fabric at a welded seam, and a thread stitched across the welded seam.

摘要: An elastic laminate for use as a tear resistant diaper side panel. The elastic laminate comprises an elastic substrate bonded to at least one layer of a tensioned spunbond nonwoven web comprising thermoplastic filaments comprising at least about 10% by weight polyethylene. The laminate is then incrementally stretched in the transverse direction to provide a service stretch greater than 100% and a strength ratio greater than 0.35. In one embodiment, the elastic substrate is bonded between the tensioned nonwoven webs by point bonding or hot melt adhesives. Also disclosed is a method for making an elastic laminate comprising the steps of providing at least one layer of a tensioned spunbond nonwoven web comprising thermoplastic filaments comprising at least about 10% by weight polyethylene, providing an elastic substrate, bonding the elastic substrate and the at least one layer of nonwoven web to provide an elastic laminate, and incrementally stretching the laminate in the transverse direction to provide a service stretch greater than 100% and a strength ratio greater than 0.35.

摘要: A method of producing a filter unit, such as an air/oil separator, having a tubular filter element bonded at one end to an end cap, is proposed. The method comprises: providing a tubular filter element and an end cap; melting a portion of the end cap; and embedding an end of the filter element into the melted portion of the end cap. The melted portion, on cooling, solidifies to bond the tubular filter element to the end cap. The end cap can be formed of thermoplastic containing an electrically conductive filler. The end cap can be formed of a thermoplastic having a melting point of at least 180 °C. The method may further comprise, after the embedding step, a step of forcing melted thermoplastic from the melted portion radially against a side wall of the tubular filter element.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a vessel from at least two plastic parts. These parts comprise circumferential walls (3, 6) having substantially similarly shaped circumferential edges (4, 7), each comprising a circumferential flange (5, 8) projecting away from the circumferential wall. The circumferential flanges of these circumferential edges are positioned in an abutting relationship and are attached to each other. Then the circumferential flanges are moved to one side and laid flat against one of the circumferential walls, and the vessel is then finished. The circumferential flanges are attached to each other such that a subsequently exerted force on the connection will cause the circumferential flanges to be laid flat against one of the circumferential walls. The invention also includes such vessel made from at least two parts.
