Abstract:
Abstract:
Method for fabricating a balloon catheter including providing an inner tubular member having a distal section and a distal end with a lumen extending therein and forming a balloon having a distal leg with a first segment having a first diameter and a first wall thickness and a second segment having a second wall thickness. The second diameter is greater than the first diameter and the first wall thickness is greater than the second wall thickness. The distal end section of the inner tubular member can be positioned in the balloon and bonded to the first segment while reducing the diameter of the second segment. Method also provided for fabricating a multilayer balloon catheter including removing at least a portion of an outer layer from the distal leg of the balloon.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of composite structures having improved heat aging, processes for making them, and end use articles. The composite structures of the present invention comprise a polyamide matrix resin composition comprising from 0. 1 to at or about 3 weight percent of a matrix heat stabilizer based on the weight of the polyamide matrix resin composition; a fibrous material and a polyamide surface resin composition comprising 0. 1 to 3 weight percent of a copper based heat stabilizer based on the weight of the polyamide surface resin composition; wherein: the matrix heat stabilizer is different than the copper based heat stabilizer; and wherein the fibrous material is impregnated with the polyamide matrix resin composition.
Abstract:
A toothed power transmission belt with a smooth back side surface has a back jacket on the back side surface; wherein the back jacket comprises a closed-mesh, knit fabric tube. The fabric tube may be knitted on a circular weft knitting machine and may be heat set after knitting. The fabric tube may be treated with an epoxy, RFL or other treatment to provide for oil resistance, adhesion, frictional properties, etc.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of composite structures, overmolded composites structures and processes for their preparation, particularly it relates to the field of polyamide composite structures. The disclosed composite structures have a surface, which surface has at least a portion made of a surface polyamide resin composition, and comprise a fibrous material selected from non-woven structures, textiles, fibrous battings and combinations thereof, said fibrous material being impregnated with a matrix resin composition, wherein the matrix polyamide resin composition and the surface resin composition is selected from polyamide compositions comprising a blend of (A) one or more fully aliphatic polyamides selected from group (I) polyamides, and (B) one or more semiaromatic polyamides selected from group (II) polyamides having a melting point of at least 280°C.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of overmolded composites structures and processes for their preparation, particularly it relates to the field of overmolded polyamide composite structures. The disclosed overmolded composite structures comprise i) a first component having a surface, which surface has at least a portion made of a surface resin composition, and comprising a fibrous material selected from non-woven structures, textiles, fibrous battings and combinations thereof, said fibrous material being impregnated with a matrix resin composition, ii) a second component comprising an overmolding resin composition, wherein said second component is adhered to said first component over at least a portion of the surface of said first component, and wherein the surface resin composition is selected from polyamide compositions comprising a blend of two or more fully aliphatic polyamides having a melting point of at least 250°C and wherein the matrix resin composition is selected from polyamide compositions comprising a one or more fully aliphatic polyamides having a melting point of at least 250°C.
Abstract:
The composition exhibits oxygen-scavenging properties and comprises a polyamide, a polyester, and transition metal catalyst. The amount of polyamide is at least 10wt%, and the polyester comprises a x%PETI copolymer and/or a y%PETG copolymer, with x and y being at least equal to 5. The composition is particularly suitable for making a low haze and gas barrier layer in a multilayered packaging article, such a as a rigid container, a film for a package.
Abstract:
Brush heads, in particular toothbrush heads comprising bristle tuft cleaning elements and two-component-(2K)-cleaning elements can be produced by injection molding. In order to achieve high design flexibility regarding the arrangement of the 2K-cleaning elements and regarding the material choice, the 2K-cleaning elements may be manufactured separately or in an upstream molding step. Then the 2K-cleaning elements together with the bristle tuft(s) may be over-molded with plastic material in order to form the brush head or a part thereof.
