Abstract:
Abstract:
A fuel tank baffle assembly is provided for installation in a fuel tank, the baffle assembly comprising a main body having a first end section, a second end section, and an intermediate section interconnecting the first and second end sections. Operably associated with the main body is at least one deployable auxiliary baffle structure. The auxiliary baffle structure is configured to be positioned in an undeployed state during installation into a fuel tank, thereby defining a first installation width of the baffle assembly. Following installation, the auxiliary baffle structure is deployed into an extended position, thereby defining an operational width for subsequent usage. The operational width is greater than the installation width.
Abstract:
Cryogenic fluid tank, comprising an internal casing (4) placed in an external casing (3) with a vacuum insulation space (6) therebetween, the tank and in particular the two internal (4) and external (3) casings having an oblong general shape, the cross section of which in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is non-circular, said tank comprising at least one element (2) for reinforcing the external casing, in order to prevent the latter from buckling, characterized in that the element or elements (2) for reinforcing the external casing are placed only on the outer surface of the external casing (3).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an element (7) intended to decrease the risk of explosion when handling fuel inside a container (1). The element is adapted to be positioned inside the container and is arranged to suppress a possible combustion of the fuel inside the container. The invention also relates to a use of such an element inside a container to decrease the risk for explosion when handling fuel.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fuel tank for a motor vehicle in the shape of a tank housing (1) which encapsulates a fuel space (2) which is divided by means of a number of lateral stiffening partitioning wall (4, 5) into fuel chambers (8, 9). These communicate with each other via openings (10-15) in the partitioning walls. The tank exhibits an outlet organ (116) with a chosen position in one of the fuel chambers where the opening is delimited all around by means of an opening edge (26) which is arranged within the partitioning wall with a distance to the bottom of the tank. In one or more of the openings between the fuel chambers there is arranged a back valve (22). By means of the clack valve, flow is permitted to the fuel chamber (7) with the outlet organ (16) but in the opposite direction the flow is completely or partially prevented by means of which in case of a sloping of the tank in its longitudinal direction fuel is retained in the fuel chamber in which the outlet organ is positioned.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a baffle plate (5) for a tank (3) holding a fluid, the baffle plate (5) being arranged for reducing forces acting on the tank (3), which forces are due to the fluid moving within the tank (3). The baffle plate (5) comprises a plate member (13), arranged to extend from an inner top surface (7) of the tank to an inner bottom surface (9) of the tank (3) and having at least one attachment portion (23) arranged for attaching the plate member (13) to an interior surface of the tank (3). The plate member (13) further comprises at least one hole (11) arranged therein. The baffle plate (5) is further a plan plate member (13) and comprises flange portions (15), arranged at a first circumference (17) of the at least one hole (11), wherein the flange portion (15) extends away from the plate member (13) in a first direction (19) and further extends inwards towards a centre (C) of the at least one hole (11). The flange portion (15) further comprises a second circumference (29), smaller than the first circumference (17), the flange portion (15) being defined as a portion of a torus, said portion being a curved surface between the first and the second circumference (17, 29). The invention also relates to a fuel tank (3) for a vehicle (1), which fuel tank (3) comprises at least one such baffle plate (5), and a vehicle (1) comprising at least one such fuel tank (3).
