Described in detail herein are automated routing systems and methods. A first conveyer belt system can receive and transport storage containers. A label including an object machine-readable element encoded with an object identifier is disposed on each of the storage containers. The conveyer carousel system coupled to the first conveyer belt system can receive the storage containers from the first conveyer belt system. A diverter can guide the storage containers to remain on the conveyer carousel system or route each storage container one of a geographically distributed kiosks external to the facility. The geographically distributed kiosk can receive an identifier associated with the label of a specified one of the storage containers can control the diverter to route the specified one of the storage containers from the conveyer carousel system to the geographically distributed kiosks in response to receipt of the identifier.

A product storage device is provided, including a plurality of shelves (108, 204, 208) coupled to a drive system (106, 206), wherein the plurality of shelves (108, 204, 208) are operable to travel along the drive system (106, 206) to predetermined locations. The product storage unit also includes a transfer conveyer (112, 212). A lift transfer device (110, 210) is included, wherein the lift transfer device (110, 210) is operable to remove at least one food product from at least one of the plurality of shelves (108, 204, 208) and transfer the at least one food product to the transfer conveyer (112, 212). And a microcontroller circuit (120, 220) communicatively coupled to a memory is included, wherein the microcontroller circuit (120, 220) is programmable to operate: the drive system (106, 206), the transfer conveyer (112, 212), and the lift transfer device (110, 210).

Die Ladehilfsmittel (2.1, 2.2) werden vor einem Kommissioniervorgang an einer ersten Erfassungsvorrichtung (108) vorbeigefördert und erhält die Steuerungsvorrichtung von der Erfassungsvorrichtung (108) entweder ein Identifikationssignal, wenn ein erster Datenträger (53) gelesen werden konnte, oder ein Fehllesungssignal, wenn ein erster Datenträger (53) nicht gelesen werden konnte, und wird das Ladehilfsmittel-Transportsystem von der Steuerungsvorrichtung von einem ersten Betriebsmodus in einen zweiten Betriebsmodus geschaltet wird, wenn ein Fehllesungssignal vorliegt.
