A responsive hydrogel-based material may be used as a carrier system for the in situ delivery of various cargo substances, including bioactive moieties. The hydrogel structure, which includes photodegradable and thioether moieties in its three dimensional network, enables finely tuned local release of cargo substances as a function of the in vivo tissue environment (e.g., enzyme concentration or reducing environment) and externally applied stimuli (e.g., light) by selective spatiotemporal hydrogel degradation.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft hochkonzentrierte, wasserfreie Aminsalze von Kohlenwasserstoffpolyalkoxysulfaten, wobei die Salze aus der Gruppe der substituierten Amine, vorzugsweise der Alkanolamine, gewählt sind. Die erhaltenen Produkte sind bei Raumtemperatur niedrigviskos und pumpfähig. Aufgrund der Abwesenheit von Wasser sind die Salze hoch hydrolysestabil, auch bei hohen Temperaturen. Des Weiteren betrifft die Erfindung die Verwendung der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen in wässriger Verdünnung zur Anwendung in Erdöllagerstätten, mit dem Ziel, eine verbesserte Ölförderung zu erreichen bzw. zur Gewinnung von Kohlenwasserstoffen aus Teersänden oder anderen kohlenwasserstoffversehenen Oberflächen oder Materialien.

A method of: reacting NH2-(CH2-CH2-O)n-CH2-CH2-OH with thiophene acid chloride to form a (SC4Hs)-CO-NH-(CH2-CH2-O)n-CH2-CH2-OH amide; reacting the amide with a vinyl sulfonic ester, a vinyl phosphonate, a vinyl carboxylate, or a vinyl boronic ester to form an intermediate; and converting the intermediate to a salt form.

Polymeric reagents comprising a polymer sucg as PEG attached, either directly or through one or more atoms to a ketone or a related functional group such as ketone hydrate, thione, monothiohydrate, dithiohydrate, hemiketal, monothiohemiketal, dithiohemiketal, ketal, or dithioketal are provided. The polymeric reagents are useful for, among other things, forming polymer-active agent conjugates. Related methods, compositions, preparations, and so forth are also provided.

The invention comprises a linear or branched polymer derivative comprising a water soluble and non-peptidic polymer backbone that incorporates an optionally protected vicinal diol, which is either embedded in the polymer backbone or is attached as a pendant group, wherein each linking group (linker) between the polymer backbone and the vicinal diol is a chain comprising at least two adjacent saturated carbon atoms. The invention further comprises a method of using said polymer derivative to form an aldehyde and either a second aldehyde or a ketone by way of oxidative cleavage.

Polyoxybutylene-polyoxyethylene sulfate-based surfactants particularly useful in preparing high internal phase emulsions. High internal phase emulsions having an internal aqueous phase of greater than 70 percent by volume and an external oil phase comprising a vinyl polymerizable monomer contain a polyoxybutylene-polyoxyethylene-based surfactant. Open-celled polymeric foams having a liquid capacity of greater than about 70 percent of its saturated volume can be prepared from such emulsions.

Disclosed is a method for grafting a polymer onto the surface of a carbonate material with carboxyl, amine, and/or hydroxyl functions on its surface. Said material is placed in suspension in a solution including the polymer to be grafted, which has a carboxyl, amine, and/or hydroxyl function, said solution also being comprised of a polymer solvent. A process which stimulates the dehydration into a carboxyl function of an amine and/or hydroxyl function is then performed, and the polymer is grafted onto the carbonate material using ester or amide links. The invention can be used in the cathode or naode of an electrochemical generator, in polymer materials with low polar properties, in ink, and also as a conductive coating on flexible plastic used as an electrical contact, as electromagnetic shielding, or as static protection.

The invention relates to the use of salts of di- alpha sulphodicarboxylic acid di-ester according to the formula (I) in formulations for washing and cleaning textiles, cleaning hard surfaces and cleaning and washing hair and skin. R and R both stand for a hydrocarbon radical with 1-22 carbon atoms. R means a spacer from a chain with 2-100 carbon atoms which contain oxygen, nitrogen and/or phosphorus atoms and can have functional side groups. A and B stand for oxygen, alkoxylene groups or derivatized nitrogen.
