The present invention provides block copolymers, e.g., thermoplastic elastomers, having at least one monomer that is covalently bonded to a sulfonate moiety. The present invention also provides block copolymers, e.g., thermoplastic elastomers, having at least one monomer that is covalently bonded to a peptide. The present invention also provides methods for making and using (e.g., in articles of manufacture such as medical devices) the copolymers of the present invention.

Abstract:
Monolayer packages comprised of an oxygen scavenging composition suitable for direct contact with package contents and recycle with other polyester bottles are disclosed. The oxygen scavenging composition is comprised of a modified copolymer which is comprised of predominantly polyester segments and an oxygen scavenging amount of oxygen scavenging segments. The polyester segments comprise segments derived from typical bottling and packaging polyesters such as PET and PEN. Use of these oxygen scavenging copolymers in bottles provides a clear and rigid monolayer bottle similar in appearance to unmodified polyester bottles. In a series of preferred embodiments, bottles fabricated with the oxygen scavenging copolymers of this invention are over 99 wt% PET and contain less than 50 ppb of extractable components.

The present invention relates to a method to make a rotational molded skin from a powdered polyolefin elastomer composition derived from spray drying an aqueous polyolefin dispersion composition wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion composition is derived from melt blending a polyolefin composition comprising an olefin block copolymer, a dispersing agent, and water, wherein said aqueous dispersion preferably has a pH less than 12.

Ebenso betrifft die Erfindung ein derart hergestelltes Papiererzeugnis. Verwendung finden derartige Papiererzeugnisse insbesondere als Tissue-Produkte.

The olefinic material is an olefin-based block copolymer with an olefin block that is at least substantially saturated and at least one (poly)ester or (poly)ether block, an at least substantially saturated polyolefin polyol having a number average molecular weight of from about 500 to about 20,000 or a derivative thereof, or a combination of both.

A thermoplastic resin which comprises a resin, especially a polyolefin, and a block polymer comprising polyolefin blocks and hydrophilic polymer blocks and finely dispersed therein without the need of a compatibilizing agent and gives a molding having permanent antistatic properties even when it is molded under shear-free conditions and even when the block polymer amount is small, and which does not foul the molds or rollers during molding because of satisfactory compatibility and has excellent mechanical strength. The block polymer (A) is characterized by having a structure comprising blocks of a polyolefin (a) alternating with blocks of a hydrophilic polymer (b) having a volume resistivity of 10 to 10 OMEGA .cm. An antistatic agent comprising the block polymer (A) is provided. The resin composition comprises the block polymer (A) and a thermoplastic resin (B). A molded article obtained by coating or printing a molding of a resin composition containing the block polymer (A) is further provided.
