Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method to improve miscibility in refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump or power cycle systems comprising charging a refrigeration, air conditioning or heat pump system with a refrigerant composition; wherein the refrigerant composition comprises at least one refrigerant and a lubricant comprising at least one perfluoropolyether and at least one non-fluorinated lubricant, provided that the refrigerant composition has no more than two liquid phases over the range of the composition and over a range of temperature from about -40C to about +60C. Also disclosed is a refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump, or power cycle system containing said refrigerant composition.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a threaded tubular component for drilling or working hydrocarbon wells, said tubular component having at one of its ends (1; 2) a threaded zone (3; 4) produced on its outer or inner peripheral surface depending on whether the threaded end is male or female in type, in which at least a portion of the end (1; 2) is coated with at least one lubricating dry film (12) comprising at least 65% by weight of a polyaryletherketone. The invention also concerns a process for depositing said film (12).

Abstract:
Disclosed is a lubricant for recording media which is hardly decomposed while having high adhesion to a recording medium. Also disclosed is a magnetic disk which is durable against continuous sliding under high-speed rotation. Specifically disclosed is a lubricant for recording media which contains a perfluoropolyether compound represented by the following formula (1): R
Abstract:
A lubricant compound for use for both boundary and elastohydrodynamic lubrication utilize a hydrocarbon boundary lubricant linked to one or more fluorocarbon elastohydrodynamic lubricants and may be employed alone or as an additive. The lubricant compound lubricates surfaces on which it is disposed over a range of conditions. The boundary lubricant and the elastohydrodynamic lubricant are substituted such that they react with and/or provide desirable lubrication properties for particular surfaces.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of formulations which contain selected fluorinated components, for reducing the friction between transported goods and transport installations.
Abstract:
Thermally formed thermoplastic articles can be protected from stress cracking in the presence of stress cracking promoting compounds by forming a shaped article comprising a thermoplastic and a liquid hydrocarbon oil composition. We have found that the liquid hydrocarbon oil composition prevents the stress cracking promoting materials from interacting with the polymeric structure of the stressed container to prevent or inhibit stress cracking in such materials. The methods and compositions of the invention are particularly useful in preventing stress cracking in polyethylene terephthalate beverage containers during bottling operations during which the bottle is contacted with aqueous and non-aqueous materials such as cleaners and lubricants that can interact with the polyester to cause stress cracking particularly in the container base. A process for lubricating a container, such as a beverage container, or a conveyor for containers, by applying to the container or conveyor, a thin continuous, substantially non-dripping layer of a liquid lubricant. The process provides many advantages compared to the use of a conventional dilute aqueous lubricant.
