Der Anroller weist dabei zwei Arme (1,2) auf, die über ein Verbindungsstück miteinander verbunden sind. An den freien Enden der Arme sind jeweils Anrollteile (4, 5) vorgesehen, welche mit den zu verbindenden Gegenständen in Kontakt treten und den Druck in die Verbindungsstelle weitergeben. Der Druck der Anrollteile wird über eine auf die Arme drückende Presseinrichtung (7) erzeugt. Ein Anrollteil (5) wird für eine Bewegung relativ zu den zu verbindenden Gegenständen über einen Antrieb (6) angetrieben.

A belt cutting and splicing apparatus is provided for joining together the ends of one or more monolithic conveyor belts. A belt support is configured to support the belt ends in spaced relation to each other and a non-contact heating device is provided for being disposed between the belt ends to generate thermal radiation for joining the belt ends together. A drive mechanism is operable to cause relative movement of a pair of platens, for supporting belt ends, toward and away from each other and a heating device between heating and stowed positions. An actuator of the drive mechanism is movable by an operator between at least three operation positions. An on-board belt cutting mechanism is provided for precision cutting of the belt ends using the same apparatus for both belt cutting and splicing operations.

A splice is described for jointing thermoplastic strips that comprise steel cords. In the splice a splice polymer is used that is a mixture of a co-polymer and a base polymer, wherein the co-polymer is a grafted co-polymer, a block co-polymer or a random co-polymer functionalised for enabling adhesion to the steel cords. Particular about the inventive splice is that the amount of co-polymer in the base polymer is such that in a test-till-break of a splice, part of the steel cords fracture in the test while the remaining cords are pulled out of the polymer without breaking. Surprisingly, a splice with such a failure behaviour results in a better overall splice strength than a splice wherein a too large amount of co-polymer is added. When too much co-polymer is added all steel cords break in the test which strangely enough leads to a lower overall strength of the splice.

These portions are arranged in mutual contact when the ends (2), (3) are coupled and press the one against the other in case a longitudinal traction effort is applied to the belt piece (1), closed as a loop, to prevent the ends (2, 3) from sliding in longitudinal direction. It is further disclosed a method for obtaining a closed looped belt which uses a belt piece (1), comprising the steps of: approaching the ends (2), (3) according to a direction orthogonal to the extension one of the belt piece (1), until they are restrained; and fixing the ends (2), (3) with respect to each other by means of melting thermoplastic material or by applying small blocks.

An adhesive is applied to one of an end face 21K of the first belt end 21 and an end face 22K of the second belt end 22 or to both. Next, both end faces 2 IK and 22K are butted. The butted portion B of the first and second belt ends 21 and 22 are pressed in the belt width direction. Due to this, the end faces 21K and 22K are bonded by the adhesive so that the first and second belt ends 21 and 22 become joined.

The invention relates to a multi-layered belt (1), in particular a continuous running and/or transport and/or processing belt, comprising a traction layer and a functional layer that contains a gel (13). To reduce the stress placed on the transported goods, in particular persons, the gel (13) is an unplasticised gel (13) and the functional layer consists of a coating containing the interspersed gel (13). The invention also relates to a method for producing a belt of this type (1), in which the gel (13) is poured in a continuous method onto the traction layer and a mixer and delivery unit is guided back and forth in a reversible manner perpendicular to the displacement direction of the traction layer in such a way that a gel layer with a uniform thickness is applied to the traction layer. The invention further relates to the use of said belt (1) as a running belt for persons, in particular as a running belt for training and/or fitness equipment.
