Abstract:
A temporary radiotherapy facility for use during renovation, upgrading, and/or modernization of an existing facility. The radiotherapy facility is integrated with radiation producing equipment and radiation shielding vaults. The structural elements and their arrangement enable compliance with applicable codes for this type of facility and provide an ability to maintain radiotherapy treatment continuity during equipment transition. The treatment room of the facility is constructed from a vault module comprising a freestanding outer frame assembly that is placed on the supporting foundation. The vault module includes a base frame adjustably mounted within the outer frame assembly for supporting the radiotherapy device and a plurality of adjustable supports for leveling the base frame independently from the outer frame assembly. The ability to level the base frame independently from the outer frame assembly allows fine adjustments to be made to the orientation of the equipment.
Abstract:
Biomass feedstocks (e.g., plant biomass, animal biomass, and municipal waste biomass) are processed to produce useful products, such as fuels, heat and energy.
Abstract:
Biomass feedstocks (e.g., plant biomass, animal biomass, and municipal waste biomass) are processed to produce useful products, such as fuels. For example, systems are described that can be useful for separating solids from liquids of saccharified biomass material slurries. Many potential lignocelluloslc feedstocks are available today, including agricultural residues, woody biomass, municipal waste, oilseeds/cakes and seaweed, to name a few.
Abstract:
A horizontal storage module (HSM) assembly generally includes a base portion including a plurality of segments that are vertically layered on top of each other and a lid portion. A method of constructing an HSM assembly generally includes forming a plurality of segments for the base portion of the HSM assembly, and vertically stacking the segments.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Methods for setting up, maintaining and operating a radiopharmaceutical infusion system, that includes a radioisotope generator, are facilitated by a computer of the system. The computer includes pre-programmed instructions and a computer interface, for interaction with a user of the system, for example, in order to track contained volumes of eluant and/or eluate, and/or to track time from completion of an elution performed by the system, and/or to calculate one or more system and/or injection parameters for quality control, and/or to perform purges of the system, and/or to facilitate diagnostic imaging.

Abstract:
Infusion system configurations and assemblies facilitate routing of infusion circuit tubing lines. Tubing lines are routed into and out from compartments of a shielding assembly for the infusion system, at locations which prevent kinking and/or crushing of the lines, and/or provide for ease in assembling the circuit. A plurality of the lines may be held together by a support frame to form a disposable infusion circuit subassembly, that can further facilitate routing of the lines.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to radiographic imaging of storage devices and more particularly, to a method and device for protecting a storage device from radiographic imaging. Security devices are available which, if their inner workings could be discovered, would be ineffective and therefore would no longer prevent undetected, unauthorized discovery of objects they are designed to secure. An example is a mechanical combination lock which, if the position of its various internal components could be ascertained, would allow unauthorized access. In addition, it is also important in some instances to prevent unwanted radiographic imaging of a storage device so that its contents cannot be ascertained. The current art of radiographic imaging has significantly increased the possibility of this type of intrusion into areas protected by such high security devices. Other types of locks, closures, fasteners, and bolts that protect by mechanically restricting access and which are themselves assumed secured because of the inability of an intruder to ascertain the position of their locking mechanism are also vulnerable to radiographic imaging.
