Abstract: The invention is directed to an inhaler device for inhalable liquids, in particular for the administration of inhalable volatile liquids such as halogenated volatile liquids, to a patient. According to particular embodiments, the inhaler device may include a liquid container for hermetically storing inhalable liquid; a wicking material for supporting inhalable liquid; a piercing member configured to pierce the liquid container, wherein the liquid container may be provided in a first position in which the piercing member does not engage the liquid container and inhalable liquid remains hermetically stored within the liquid container, and the liquid container may be displaced from the first position to a second position such that the piercing member pierces the storage container to release inhalable liquid onto the wicking material, whereby during inhalation inhalable liquid vapour from the wicking material is delivered to the patient.

Abstract: A method of, or system for, ventilating lungs in breathing and non-breathing patients--including applications for anesthesia--may comprise maintaining an inspiratory flow rate at an inspiratory setpoint at a low flow setting. Lung pressure in a patient may be regulated between a high pressure setpoint and a low pressure setpoint with periodic expiratory flows and continuous inspiratory flow. An expiratory control valve may be adjusted to an open position when a lung pressure is at or above a high pressure setpoint. An expiratory control valve may be adjusted to a closed position when a lung pressure is at or below a low pressure setpoint. Concurrent venting outflow and CO2 offloading through flow within the lungs may be facilitated by providing an intermittent expiratory flow to the patient while providing the continuous inspiratory flow.

Abstract: A security tag can prohibit unauthorized usage of a device or product. The device may include an electronic nicotine delivery systems ("ENDS") device, which may include aerosol delivery devices such as smoking articles that produce aerosol. The security tag can prevent usage until authorized. Attempts at usage without authorization can result in the device being unusable. The authorization may include identity confirmation or age verification.
