A waterproof invisible barrier seam is formed between two fabric laminates, an outer shell fabric laminate and an inner lining fabric laminate. The seam includes an invisible seam tape that forms a hydrostatic barrier within the seam. The design of the seam allows the formation of an effective hydrostatic barrier along the seams of a soft shell garment, while retaining flexibility, stretch, aesthetic appearance, and reversibility.

The invention relates to a structural component, comprising: a metal part (1) defining an accommodating space for a plastic insert (2) having an outer shape at least approximately adapted to the space of the metal part (1), wherein the insert (2) is at least partially formed from thermoplastic material, and to a method for assembling such a structural component, at least comprising: accommodating the insert (2) in the space; heating the metal part (1) to an elevated temperature; and forming the insert (2) at least partially from thermoplastic material. To provide an improved structural component and method, the insert (2) is, during assembly, accommodated into the space while applying pressure and while the metal part (1) has an elevated temperature at least approximately sufficient to melt thermoplastic material of the insert (2) where the insert (2) and the metal part (1) are in contact, while applying the pressure to accommodate the insert (2).
