摘要： A laminated bus bar has thereon a male terminal formed either from only two electric strip conductors separated by a layer of insulation, or from two groups of conductors separated by a layer of insulation. When only two conductors are employed, one may be slightly longer and wider than the other, and the terminal section of the one conductor has a marginal edge portion thereof extending beyond the edge of the registering terminal section of the other conductor. Both terminal sections of the two conductors have exposed outer surfaces forming a male terminal disposed to be inserted releasably into a female receptacle of an electric circuit, and a dielectric insulator barrier is secured on and covers the marginal edge portion of the terminal section of the one conductor and overlies the edge of the other terminal section. When each terminal section constitutes a group of spaced, parallel conductors one of two, like insulator barriers is secured to each side of the insulation separating the two groups, and has in one edge thereof spaced notches for accommodating and covering the edges of all conductors in the registering group thereof.

摘要： A signal connector assembly with a plug contact (7) within a plug (6) having a high resistive portion (12). When each contact (7) of the assembly first makes contact with an associated electrical contact (15) within a mating receptacle (8), the high resistive portion (12) prevents a voltage surge. As the plug (6) is further inserted into the receptacle (8), the energy passing from the plug (6) to the receptacle (8) is gradually increased. Eventually, the receptacle contacts (15) within the receptacle (8) pass the high resistive portions (12) of the plug contacts (7) and make contact with conductive portions (14) of the plug contacts (7), thereby permitting transmission of valid signals without the generation of spurious errors.

摘要： An electrical connection system, for example a drop-side patch panel, comprises a mounting rail (12) which receives first connectors (14) arranged with their contacts facing away from the rail (12). Cable introduced between the rail and the connectors is separated into individual conductors which are terminated at contacts (34, 36) via slots (30) in the rail walls. A second connector 16 carries standard data or voice sockets communications (19) which are connected to the first connector via edge contact carrying PCBs (38) which engage in slots (40) in the first connectors. The PCB edge connectors have a discontinuity on one surface, and one half of the contact is connected to the contact on the other side to enable direct connection between upper (34) and lower (36) rows of contacts of the first connectors in a first position of the second connectors, and contact between the upper rows of contacts and the standard sockets (19) in a second position.

摘要： An electrical connecting arrangement is provided between an electrical edge connector and a printed circuit board in which contact pads provided near the edge of the printed circuit board have a convex profile at least in the direction of insertion of the board into an opening in the edge connector. The depth of the connector opening and the distance of the contact pads from the board edge is such that during insertion of the board into the connector contact springs of the latter ride up and over the convex profile of the pads and come to rest beyond the centre line of the convex profile when the board is fully inserted.
