A method of marking an object wherein known sheets (2) having a curable print-receiving coating (epoxy and polyamide particles (3)) on one surface and pressure-sensitive adhesive (5) on the other surface (normally used for attaching the printed and cured sheet to a wall or other surface) are wrapped around the object to be marked and the overlapping ends (4) of the sheet are temporarily secured by an overlap bond between the pressure-sensitive adhesive (5) and the curable coating (3). Subsequent curing of the coating fixes the indicia printed thereon and cures the bond to fix the sheet in position. Preferably, the pressure-sensitive adhesive (e.g. acrylic polymer) will interact with the curable coating on curing.

The elements (12a, 12b) are coupled with the backing sheet (13) interposed.

A method and a device for scrap-free manufacture of coated profiles and thermoformed containers. A hollow pipe having a cross-section suitable for the desired profile is extruded. The extruded hollow profile is cut longitudinally. Thereafter the profile is planar laminated by a web formed material having desired characteristics. The cut, laminated profile thereafter is formed into the original shape thereof, or another suitable shape, and is formed into container casings. When thermoforming containers, a hollow profile is extruded from a thermoformable material in an extruder, this hollow profile is cut, in one or several longitudinal cuts. In web or roller form such cut profile is supplied to a so called scrap-free thermoforming machinery, where the thermoformed containers are manufactured.

In the manufacture of a padded element, such as a seat cushion for motor vehicles, the cushion cover (3) (of cloth, leather, synthetic material or the like) is applied to the padding (2) (usually of expanded plastics material) after having been formed to the shape of the surface of the padding (2) by means of pressing in a metal die and the simultaneous application of steam.
