The volume of the anode chamber may be relatively small or essentially zero upon start up to prevent influx of contaminants that would have to be purged from the system. As fuel is directed into the anode chamber, the chamber volume increases to accommodate the flow of fuel.

摘要: A fuel cell, fuel cell array and methods of forming the same are disclosed. The fuel cell can be made by forming a first aperture defined by a first aperture surface through a first electrode layer and forming a second aperture defined by a second aperture surface through a second electrode layer. A proton exchange membrane is laminated between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. At least a portion of the first aperture is at least partially aligned with the second aperture.

an end anode current collector;
a first ion-permeable membrane spaced from the end anode current collector and at least partially defining a first anode;
a bipolar electrode including an anode current collector and a cathode current collector, the bipolar electrode spaced from the first ion-permeable membrane and at least partially defining a first cathode between the first ion-permeable membrane and the cathode current collector of the bipolar electrode;
a second ion-permeable membrane spaced from the bipolar electrode and at least partially defining a second anode between the second ion-permeable membrane and the anode current collector of the bipolar electrode; and
an end cathode current collector spaced from the second ion-permeable membrane and at least partially defining a second cathode between the end cathode current collector and the second ion-permeable membrane,
wherein at least one of the first anode, the second anode, the first cathode, and the second cathode includes a semi-solid or condensed liquid ion-storing redox composition and

摘要: A method and a device for treating at least a part of an individual's skin having a natural first polarization state. The method comprises the steps of applying at least two electrodes on the individual's skin at a distance from each other, and supplying a direct current to said electrodes to form an electrical potential difference between said electrodes on said part of the skin in order to bringing said part of the skin into a second polarization state, which is different from the first. The part of the skin is then suitable subjected to further treatment for example using cosmetics or pharmaceuticals. The invention can be utilized in the field of cosmetics and for therapy, and it can be used e.g. for accelerating skin care processes.

摘要: A fuel cell power module is coupled to a fuel supply reactor module by way of an adaptor which includes some of the control elements for controlling reaction of reactants in the reactor module. The adaptor includes a housing and a first connection interface in the housing for detachably coupling the adaptor to a fuel cell power module fuel inlet port and a second connection interface in the housing for detachably coupling the adaptor to a reactor module fuel outlet port. A fluid line extends between the first connection interface and the second connection interface. The adaptor includes a motive unit of a flow control mechanism configured to provide motive power to a flow circuit of a reactor module when the reactor module is coupled to the adaptor. The adaptor enables a fuel cell power module to be interfaced with different types of reactor modules having different form factor and different control requirements.
