摘要: An intervertebral implant comprises a first component and a second component. The second component includes an actuator and a third component comprises a first ramp and a second ramp axially spaced apart from the first ramp. The third component comprises rails including at least a portion of the ramps. At least one of the ramp portions disposed with the first rail has a first height and at least one of the ramp portions disposed with the second rail has a second height. The first height is greater than the second height. The actuator is engageable with the third component to effect axial translation such that the ramps engage at least one of the components between a first configuration and a second configuration. Methods of use are disclosed.

摘要: An intervertebral implant is provided. The intervertebral implant comprises a first component comprising an outer tissue engaging surface and an inner surface. A second component is connected to the first component, and is relatively moveable thereform. The second component comprises an outer tissue engaging surface and an inner surface. The second component includes an actuator. A third component is disposed for engagement and is movable relative to the first and second components. The third component comprises at least a first ramp and a second ramp axially spaced apart from the first ramp. The actuator is engageable with the third component to effect axial translation of the wedge such that the ramps engage the inner surface of at least one of the first component and the second component to move the components between a first, collapsed configuration and a second, expanded configuration. Methods of use are disclosed.

The force transmitting device (8) is adapted to be secured to the stump or other body portion in such a way that it relieves the implant (6) from at least part of the bending and/or rotational forces exerted to the prosthetic member (4).

摘要: A rotating, locking, spring-loaded disk implant for stabilizing adjacent vertebrae. The implant (22) is substantially rectangular in cross-sectional shape with minimal height and maximal width. The implant is inserted into the space between two adjacent vertebrae from which a portion of the intervertebral disk has been removed and, when positioned in the disk space, rotated to bring the sides of the rectangularly-shaped implant defining the width of the implant, with its larger dimension, into engagement with the bodies of the adjacent vertebrae. A portion (56) of the implant is biased away from the implant and into contact with the adjacent vertebrae to provide a cushioning effect between the implant and the vertebra. A lock (24) is then secured to the implant to resist further rotation of the implant in the disk space.

摘要: The present disclosure provides improved prosthetic facet joints (20) and a nucleus supplement device (50) for a spinal disc without violating its annulus fibrosus. In one example, a prosthetic facet joint includes: a tip (34) adapted for mating against a superior articular process of an inferior vertebra, and the tip acts as at least a spacer between the superior articular process and an inferior articular process of a superior vertebra; and an body (38) for mating against a hole in the superior vertebra, and the body comprises a surface that is uneven along its entire length. The prosthetic facet joint may comprise a cavity (36) used for delivering a substance to the articular capsule or joint space. In another example, a nucleus supplement device (50) is provided, having the same structure, but larger body. The nucleus supplement device is to be inserted into a vertebral body (V3) so that the tip penetrates the endplate and the substance (72) in the cavity is used to re-pressurize the nucleus pulposus of the spinal disc (74).
