The method includes the steps of: setting a first predetermined time distance between the host vehicle (2) and the lead vehicle (6), maintaining the first predetermined time distance, evaluating a parameter that characterizes velocity changes of the lead vehicle in order to optimize a time distance between the host vehicle (2) and the lead vehicle (6), changing the first predetermined time distance to a second predetermined time distance if the parameter that characterizes velocity changes reaches a threshold value, and maintaining the second predetermined time distance. A system, a vehicle, a computer program product and a computer program for the method are further described herein.

摘要: A device and a method for controlling vehicle speed in a vehicle equipped with cruise control when the vehicle is travelling downhill. The method involves driving a vehicle downhill with the cruise control set to a first brake set speed value; detecting a current vehicle speed; applying a brake torque using at least one auxiliary brake to maintain the first brake set speed, which brake torque is dependent on a currently engaged gear; detecting a manual request for a downshift from a currently engaged gear to a lower gear, in order to decrease vehicle speed; and determining if a downshift is permissible at the current vehicle speed. If a control unit determines that a downshift is not permissible, then the control unit is automatically arranged to apply a brake torque using at least a vehicle service brake to retard the vehicle speed; to retard the vehicle from a current, first vehicle speed to a lower, second vehicle speed at which a downshift to a lower gear is permissible; and to perform a downshift to a lower gear when the second vehicle speed is reached. The cruise control brake set speed is set to a second brake set speed that is lower than the first cruise control brake set speed value; and a brake torque using at least the auxiliary brake is applied if a detected current vehicle speed exceeds the second brake set speed.

摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a traveling control system capable of reducing discomfort or uneasiness felt by a driver or an occupant in automatic traveling control of a vehicle. The invention provides a traveling control system including an on-vehicle control device that is mounted on a vehicle and performs traveling control on the vehicle and an on-vehicle display device that is connected to be communicable with the on-vehicle control device and presents information to an occupant of the vehicle through screen display or audio output. The on-vehicle control device acquires externality recognition information recognized by an externality sensor and/or out-of-vehicle communication, decides driving behavior content to be taken by the vehicle based on the externality recognition information, specifies a driving behavior cause which is a reason why the driving behavior content is decided, and outputs the driving behavior content and the specified driving behavior cause. The on-vehicle display device acquires the driving behavior content and the driving behavior cause output by the on-vehicle control device and notifies of the driving behavior content and the driving behavior cause through screen display or audio output.

This in-vehicle image processing device (1) is provided with: an overhead image generation section (11) for generating an overhead image relative to a road surface by converting the view point of an image of a nearby vehicle and the road surface taken by a vehicle-mounted camera (2) ; a tire recognition section (12) for recognizing the tires of the nearby vehicle from the camera image or the overhead image; a three-dimensional object recognition section (13) for recognizing, from the camera image or the overhead image, three-dimensional objects including the vehicle body of the nearby vehicle; an area-under-vehicle recognition section (14) for calculating the ground contact position of the tire and the above-ground height from the ground contact position to the vehicle body and recognizing an area under the vehicle body on the road surface from the overhead image on the basis of the above-ground height; and a parkable area recognition section (16) for recognizing the area occupied by the vehicle body and the area under the vehicle body as a non-parking area and recognizing, on the basis of the non-parking area, a parkable area on the road surface.
