摘要: A light guide unit (20) includes, a first light guide (21) having a column shape that takes a light incident upon one end surface and emits a light from other end surface and from a light emitter on a side surface of the first light guide (21), and a second light guide (22) having a column shape that takes the light emitted from the other end surface of the first light guide (21) then incident upon one end surface of the second light guide (22), and emits the light from a light emitter on a side surface of the second light guide (22), and the one end surface of the second light guide (22) are located close proximity to the other end surface of the first light guide (21). The first light guide (21) includes a first mating member (28A), and the second light guide (22) includes a second mating member (28B) engaging with a first alignment member such that the side surface of the first light guide (21) having the light emitter and the side surface of the second light guide (22) having the light emitter are flush with each other, and the other end surface of the first light guide (21) is located close proximity to the one end surface of the second light guide (22).

摘要: This invention has as its object to provide an image sensor which can effectively attain higher read resolution, and an image processing apparatus and information processing system using the same. To achieve this object, function members including a light source (6) for irradiating an object to be read (PP) with light, a sensor (3) for receiving light reflected by the object to be read (PP), and an imaging element (7) for forming an image of the reflected light on a light-receiving portion of the sensor (3) are attached to and supported by a support member (1) to have a predetermined positional relationship. In order to assure high attachment positional precision and rigidity for the function members, the support member (1) is formed to have a hollow shape. The support member (1) is formed to have the hollow shape along its longitudinal direction. Two side portions of the support member (1) are formed to have a hollow shape, and are coupled at end portions in the longitudinal direction.

摘要: A size-reduced image reading apparatus for optically reading an image drawn on the document surface. The size reduction is achieved this way. Two light sources are so mounted over the document surface at a specific angle formed with the document surface that they are a certain distance away from each other and bilaterally symmetrical. These light sources are surface light emitters made by forming a light-emitting layer on a transparent substrate. And a fiber lens formed of a plurality of bundles of optical fibers is mounted in the gap between the two surface light emitters. Even if the surface light emitter is brought close to the reading position, a uniform illuminance intensity can be obtained at this reading position. Furthermore, if a fiber lens with a small diameter is used in place of the rod lens, the conjugate length can be shortened.
