Abstract: In the package containing unfrozen ice-cream for freezing by the end user, a pot-shaped container (11) of weldable plastic, whose cross-section widens from the container bottom to a container mouth located opposite the bottom, accommodates the unfrozen ice-cream. The container mouth (12) is closed by a lid (16) inserted therein with a circumferential edge flange (17) received in a depression (15) surrounding the mouth of the container. This edge flange is held in its position closing the container mouth in a liquid-tight and germ-tight manner by means of a tear-off covering film (23) which is welded to an edge surrounding the container mouth. The essential factor in this case is that the covering film spread over the lid is welded on the one hand to the circumferential edge of the bottom part of the container and, on the other hand, to the edge flange of the lid extending approximately in the plane of the circumferential edge of the bottom part of the container so that the liquid ice-cream accommodated inside the container is also hermetically sealed off relative to the gap between the covering film and the lid.
