    摘要: A subassembly apparatus includes a substantially shieldable interior chamber for housing at least one source of electromagnetic radiation, a connector plane external to the interior chamber for locating an end surface of a connector, and a launch window for locating an end surface of a waveguide, where the launch window is in or adjacent the connector plane. The apparatus also includes an internal propagation path extending from the interior chamber to the launch plane including a barrier of electrically conductive material disposed in the propagation path, the barrier being arranged to shield a planar region from electromagnetic radiation emitted from within the interior chamber, the planar region including substantially the connector plane substantially excluding the launch window.

    摘要: An optical fibre connector includes a connector having a receptacle or socket with a recessed optical fibre ferrule assembly for aligning an optical fibre within the connector. An optical socket has recessed therein a sleeve for receiving and bringing into optical alignment an optical fibre ferrule assembly at an internal end of the socket with a similar optical fibre ferrule assembly of an optical plug connected to the optical socket. The optical connector has a housing with at least two portions that are removably secured to one another. A method of cleaning such a recessed assembley includes removing at least one of said portions from the remainder of the housing. Contamination is then cleaned from the optical fibre ferrule assembly. Then, the the removed portion(s) are reassembled with the remainder of the housing.

    摘要: Automated adjustment of system organization parameters in a wireless communication system is provided by determining the parameter settings using a characterization of signal propagation of the system's coverage area. This characterization is based on measurements of path loss-related characteristics by the system's base stations and wireless terminals. An exemplary path loss-related characteristic is path loss as determined by measuring received signal strength (RSS) at wireless terminals based on signals transmitted at known powers by a plurality of the system's base stations. It is possible for the wireless terminals to take measurement while operating in the coverage area, whether idle or during communication with the system, and for such terminals to be associated with the system's subscribers. A resulting characterization of signal propagation in the coverage area based on the measured path loss-related characteristic can then be used to determine a variety of parameter settings.

In order to generate the global recently used files list, a network recently used files list is retrieved that identifies files that were recently accessed through the one or more network services. Applications may update the network recently used files list each time a user accesses files by way of a network service. The network recently used files list may then be merged with a local recently used files list that identifies recently accessed locally stored files in order to generate the global recently used files list. Applications may update the local recently used files list each time files are accessed that are stored locally on a computing device.
