Abstract:
A communication apparatus capable of executing facsimile transmission in any of real-time Internet mode and VoIP-based virtual voice mode and capable of switching voice communication to facsimile communication of the real-time Internet mode which is higher in communication speed than the virtual voice mode. In a case where voice communication is switched to facsimile communication, the facsimile transmission is executed in T.38 mode, if it is determined based on destination information stored in a storage unit of the communication apparatus that a communication destination with which the voice communication is being performed is capable of performing facsimile communication in T.38 mode.
Abstract:
An optical apparatus is disclosed which can prevent displacement of subject images due to an initializing operation of the image stabilizing unit from being seen by a photographer through a finder. The apparatus comprises an image-stabilizing unit which includes a movable unit movable for image stabilization and balls movable in conjunction with the movement of the movable unit, and a controller which controls operations of the movable unit. The controller causes the movable unit to perform a specific operation for moving the balls to a specific position in response to mounting of the optical apparatus on another optical apparatus, the specific operation being a different operation from an image stabilization operation of the image-stabilizing unit.
Abstract:
An alumina porous body has a porosity of 15 to 45% and an average pore size of 2 to 15 μm includes 5 to 30 mass % of titanium oxide and at least one element selected from the group consisting of copper, manganese, calcium, and strontium, the total content of oxides of the at least one element being 1.5 mass % or less.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus connected with an image processing apparatus including a reading unit for reading an image on a document to generate image data based on the read image. The communication apparatus receives from the image processing apparatus a process definition file defining details of reading processing to be performed by the reading unit and details of transmission processing for transmitting the image data generated by the reading unit, and the image data generated by the reading unit according to the definitions described in the process definition file. The communication apparatus transmits the received image data according to the definitions described in the received process definition file. When an error occurs in image data transmission, the communication apparatus determines whether to notify the occurrence of the error to a source of the process definition file depending on details about the error occurring. When the communication apparatus determines that it is necessary to notify the occurrence of the error to the source of the process definition file as a result of the determination, the communication apparatus notifies the occurrence of the error to the source of the process definition file.
Abstract:
An optical apparatus includes a photographic optical system including an image stabilizing unit supported by a support member via a plurality of elastic members, an actuator configured to drive the image stabilizing unit in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis thereof, a position detection unit configured to detect a position in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the image stabilizing unit, a gravitational direction determination unit configured to determine a gravitational direction based on an output from the position detection unit, a setting unit configured to set a holding position at which the image stabilizing unit is held based on information concerning the gravitational direction output from the gravitational direction determination unit, and a control unit configured to control the actuator based on information concerning the holding position to move the image stabilizing unit to the holding position.
Abstract:
Provided is a semiconductor device that is capable of suppressing occurrence of a crystal defect in an elongated circuit region formed in an SOI substrate. Low-voltage transistor regions are separated, by multiple inner isolation layers, into multiple sub-regions. For this reason, the length of the longitudinal direction of the sub-regions is reduced, even though the low-voltage transistor regions are extremely elongated, for example. This configuration can suppress occurrence of a crystal defect in the low-voltage transistor regions in the longitudinal direction thereof, although such defect may occur due to the difference in thermal expansion or thermal contraction between a semiconductor layer in the low-voltage transistor regions, and the element isolation layers.
Abstract:
An optical apparatus is disclosed which is capable of acquiring images with a good quality and saving power. The optical apparatus comprises a movable unit which is supported by an elastic member and movable for image stabilization and a controller. The controller performs a first control operation which controls drive of the movable unit with respect to a first position as the center of movement where the weight of the movable unit itself and a supporting force of the elastic member are balanced, and a second control operation which controls drive of the movable unit with respect to a second position as the center of movement, the second position being shifted from the first position in the direction opposite to the gravity direction toward the optical axis of an optical system that forms an object image.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a method of manufacturing a porous body, which is capable of preferably manufacturing the porous body having a high open porosity and a small thermal expansion coefficient. In the manufacturing method, a raw material including an aluminum source and a titanium source is fired to obtain the porous body containing aluminum titanate as a main component. In this manufacturing method, inorganic micro balloons containing an aluminum component and/or a silicon component are used as a pore former.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, a porous material is characterized by comprising: a connected structure formed by combining silicon carbide which is an aggregate with cordierite which is a combining material in a state to hold a large number of pores, and having a porosity of 52 to 70% and a median pore diameter of 15 to 30 μm, and is a porous material having a high porosity and a high strength and having a remarkably low possibility of including defective portions such as cuts and the like causing liquid leakage in a case where the material is used as a filter.
