摘要： A method and apparatus for summarizing a moving picture of a sports game, such as a basketball game, based on scores. The method includes detecting score information of each shot of a moving picture of a sports game, calculating a degree of importance of each shot using the detected score information of each shot, and summarizing the moving picture using the calculated degree of importance of each shot. In the method, a moving picture of a sports game is summarized using degrees of importance of shots selected based on scores having important information regarding the sports game. Therefore, the reliability of summarization of the moving picture can be enhanced. Further, the amount of data calculation required for summarizing the moving picture can be reduced since the moving picture is summarized using changes in score information that has a small amount of data.

The method includes: separating media data and metadata from the multimedia contents; creating multimedia application format (MAF) metadata by using the separated metadata, the format of the MAF metadata being predetermined; and encoding the media data and the MAF metadata to generate an MAF file including a header, the MAF metadata, and the media data, the header having information that provides a location of the media data. Accordingly, in a process of integrating digital photos and other multimedia content files into one file in the application file format MAF, visual feature information obtained from photo data and the contents of the photo images, and a variety of hint feature information for effective indexing of photos are included as metadata and content application method tools based on the metadata are included. As a result, even when the user does not have a specific application or a function for applying metadata, general-purpose multimedia content files can be effectively used by effectively browsing the multimedia content files.

摘要： A method of category-based clustering of a digital photo album and a system thereof, the method includes: generating photo information by extracting at least one of camera information of a camera used to take a photo, photographing information, and a content-based feature value including at least one of color, texture, and shape feature values, and a speech feature value; generating a predetermined parameter including at least one of user preference indicating the personal preference of the user, photo semantic information generated by using the content-based feature value of the photo, and photo syntactic information generated by at least one of the camera information, the photographing information, and interaction with the user; generating photo group information categorizing photos by using the photo information and the parameter; and generating a photo album by using the photo information and the photo group information. According to the method and system, by using together user preference and content-based feature value information, such as color, texture, and shape, from the contents of photos, as well as information that can be basically obtained from photos, such as camera information and file information stored in a camera, a large volume of photos are effectively categorized such that an album can be fast and effectively generated with photo data.

The method includes: segmenting the sports moving picture into shots and extracting audio and image data of the segmented shots; calculating a level of importance for each of the shots based on the extracted audio and image data; and selecting important shots of the shots based on the calculated levels of importance of the shots and summarizing the moving picture based on the selected important shots. Accordingly, the sports moving picture are summarized by calculating levels of importance of shots in the sports moving picture based on extracted audio and image data and selecting important shots based on the calculated levels of importance, so that reliability of the summarized sports moving picture can increase and a user can generate a desired length of summarized sports moving picture.
