Abstract: A radio head includes a standalone small cell configured to receive a plurality of IP packets over a series of sequential sub-frames, and generate a bandwidth report for each of the plurality of received IP packets. The radio head further includes a radio link control unit configured to sum a received bandwidth report with segmentation induced noise for each of the plurality of received IP packets, and an adaptive filter configured to apply a filter weight to each of the series of sequential sub-frames. The applied filter weight is based on (i) an output of the radio link control unit for a previous sub-frame, and (ii) an output of the adaptive filter for the previous sub-frame.

Abstract: A cross-scheduling resource allocation method for NOMA-based DSS is provided for a first wireless technology carrier and a different second wireless technology carrier co-existing on a same network communication channel. The method includes providing a resource subframe the first carrier within the channel at a specified bandwidth and duration, synchronizing the second wireless carrier to the specified duration within the specified bandwidth, allocating first PRBs within a first portion of the specified bandwidth for the first technology user traffic and second PRBs within a second non-overlapping portion of the specified bandwidth for the second technology user traffic, programming a frequency gap between the first PRBs and the second PRBs, obtaining channel information regarding the target communication channel, and dynamically adjusting the programmed frequency gap based on the obtained channel information.

Abstract: A scheduling unit is provided for managing upstream message allocation in a communication network. The scheduling unit includes a processor configured to determine (i) a number of channels communicating in one direction stream of the communication network, and (ii) a MAP interval duration of the communication network. The scheduling unit further includes a media access control (MAC) domain configured to (i) calculate a staggered allocation start time for each separate channel of the number of channels, and (ii) assign a different allocation start time, within the MAP interval duration, to each separate channel.

Abstract: A base station for a wireless communications system operating in an unlicensed target band of a wireless medium includes a receiver configured to wirelessly (i) receive non-cooperative carrier data within the target band from a user equipment, and (ii) detect an operation of at least one spread spectrum channel within the target band. The station further includes a transmitter configured to wirelessly send non-cooperative carrier data within the target band to the user equipment, a memory configured to store computer-executable instructions, and a processor configured to (i) execute the computer-executable instructions, (ii) determine, based on the detection operation of the receiver, at least one sequence of the at least one spread spectrum channel, and (iii) perform at least one corrective action to mitigate interference between the transmitter and an operation of the at least one spread spectrum channel based on the determination of the at least one sequence.
