Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing stable aqueous epoxy resin dispersions with polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) in finely divided, solid, or granular form as a primary dispersant, and stable aqueous epoxy resin dispersions made thereof. Specifically, the process is a solvent free continuous extrusion dispersion process.
Abstract:
A light emitting device comprising a polymeric charge transfer layer, wherein the polymeric charge transfer layer is formed from a composition comprising a polymer, said polymer comprising one or more polymerized units derived from Structure A, and one or more polymerized units derived from Structure (B), each as follows: A) a monomer having the Structure (A), as defined herein: and B) a monomer that comprises one or more dienophile moieties.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an aqueous epoxy resin blend dispersion of a high mw epoxy resin and a liquid epoxy resin with a dispersant having an interfacial tension such that a drop of the mixture of the dispersant in a melt of the epoxy resin blend against water is less than 2 dynes/cm, preferably less than 1 dyne/cm, and a process for preparing this epoxy resin blend dispersion. Specifically, the process is a solvent free melt kneading or shearing dispersion process wherein the dispersion is processed at from 50 to 150° C., and the resulting dispersion is stable.
Abstract:
A dispersion having from one to sixty percent by weight of total dispersion of a solids component dispersed in an organic continuous phase is useful as a coating for substrates. The solids component contains 40-95 weight-percent of a polyolefin containing only carbon and hydrogen and that has a number average molecular weight that is greater than 400 gram per mole, 5-40 weight-percent of an amine salt of a functionalized polyolefin; and 0-20 weight-percent of optional additives, wherein weight-percent is based on total weight of solids and wherein the dispersed particles have an average particle size of less than 35 micrometers and the organic phase is a dispersion support medium for the polyolefin and amine salt of a functionalized polyolefin.

Abstract:
In one or more embodiments, the present disclosure provides for a process for preparing a dispersion of starch particles in an aqueous liquid. In one or more embodiments, the process includes introducing a feed starch and the aqueous liquid into a rotor stator mixer, maintaining the feed starch and the aqueous liquid in the rotor stator mixer at a temperature ranging from a gelation temperature to less than a solubilization temperature, and shearing the feed starch into starch particles with the rotor stator mixer to form the dispersion of starch particles in the aqueous liquid. In one or more embodiments, the starch particles produced by this process have an average particle size diameter of no larger than 2 micrometers and the dispersion has 20 to 65 weight percent of the starch particles based on a total weight of the dispersion.
