    Abstract: A system for providing quality of experience (QoE) metrics to incoming application data transferred to a vehicle includes a cloud-based dynamically updatable application QoE policy engine adapted to establish QoE metrics and prioritization criteria for incoming application data and to assign QoE policies to the vehicle, and a data controller within the vehicle adapted to receive QoE policies from the application QoE policy engine and enforce the QoE policies assigned, wherein the data controller is adapted to enforce the QoE policies assigned with an enhanced distributed control access (EDCA) algorithm adapted to prioritize incoming application data traffic received via IEEE 802.11 standard supported wireless LAN technology channels and with a resource block allocation and network slicing (RAN) algorithm adapted to prioritize incoming application data traffic received via cellular channels.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for diagnosing sensor performance of a UWB sensor localization are provided. The system comprises a UWB tag, at least four UWB anchors, and a gateway. The gateway comprises an ECU arranged to receive sensor signals from the UWB anchors. The ECU comprises a preprocessing module arranged to align the sensor signals defining aligned data and is arranged to determine intersections of the aligned data defining points of intersections. The system further comprises a clustering module arranged to cluster the points of intersections defining at least one cluster of points of the UWB anchors to calculate a clustering quality and a clustering variance of each of the at least one cluster. The ECU is arranged to find a clustering contribution of each anchor defining a first contribution low of one of the anchors and is arranged to determine an erratic anchor based the first contribution low.

    Abstract: A vehicle system, for implementation at a subject vehicle, including a vehicle storage component having a device-discovery module that, when executed by a vehicle processing unit, determines, using vehicle communication hardware, presence of non-subject-vehicle devices. The storage component also includes a service-discovery module that, when executed, uses the communication hardware in determining needs of various devices including any of the non-subject-vehicle devices and any vehicle device. The storage component also includes a resource-discovery module that, when executed, determines what resources amongst the various devices available to serve the needs determined. The component also includes a grouping module that, when executed, establishes one or more groups amongst the various devices, yielding grouped devices of the various devices. The storage may also include a role-assignment module, a maintenance module, a soft-state-refresh module, and a broker module including an auction-and-bid protocol. The technology may include simply the storage device having any mentioned module, and processes performed.

    Abstract: A telematics system for a mobile UE includes a telematics controller that is configured to communicate via a plurality of communication channels. The telematics controller determines, for each of the communication channels, a parameter related to data throughput and energy consumption to effect an uplink communication between the telematics controller and a second device when the mobile UE is in a low-power operating mode. The parameter related to data throughput and energy consumption to effect the uplink communication is compared with a threshold. One of the communication channels is selected based upon the parameter related to data throughput and energy consumption to effect the uplink communication. The telematics controller communicates with the second device via the one of the plurality of communication channels when the mobile UE is in the low-power operating mode.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for entertaining a passenger of a vehicle by providing an immersive experience. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving image data from a plurality of camera devices coupled to the vehicle, wherein the image data depicts an environment surrounding the vehicle; receiving point of interest data associated with the environment of the vehicle; fusing, by a processor, the image data and the point of interest data using a localization method; orienting, by a processor, the fused image data based on a position of a user device; and rendering, by a processor, the oriented, fused data on a virtual reality display of the user device.

    Abstract: A vehicle system virtualizing add-on device hardware for a vehicle application. The system includes a computer-readable storage device comprising a client application, middleware components, kernel-space components, and a vehicle application. The client application communicates with an add-on-device server application for virtualizing the add-on-device hardware component at the vehicle. The middleware, in various embodiments, includes an emulated system-call application-program-interface module that receives add-on-device-hardware data from the client application, sends the data to the kernel-space components after processing, and receives the data having been processed at the kernel space. The middleware includes a frameworks-and-abstraction module that receives add-on-device-hardware data, having been processed at the kernel space and the emulated system-call-application-program-interface module and after processing sends the data for use at the vehicle application. In some implementations the middleware and kernel space includes universal-serial-bus components configured to emulate analogous components of the add-on device.
