Abstract: A vehicle includes ignition controls operable between an active state and an inactive state and a storage compartment operable between a locked state and an unlocked state. An electronic control unit (ECU) is configured to detect one of the active state and the inactive state of the ignition controls and includes data processing hardware and memory hardware that stores a security monitoring system. The security monitoring system includes an alarm and a security monitoring application that is configured to execute a delay mode including a tiered proactive measure. The delay mode is configured to delay translation of the storage compartment from the locked state to the unlocked state in response to a security event.

Abstract: A charging control system for a vehicle includes a user device that includes a display and data processing hardware in communication with the display and executing a charging application that stores a charging profile, a vehicle profile, and saved charging options. The charging control system also includes a vehicle controller communicatively coupled to the user device via a network. The vehicle controller stores at least one of battery power, battery life, and battery capacity of a vehicle battery and is configured to update the vehicle profile of the charging application and provide charge options on the display. The charge options include at least one of a charge time, charging locations, and battery capacity when the charging application is executed on the data processing hardware.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided that include sensors and a processor of a vehicle that is configured to tow a trailer. The sensors are configured to obtain sensor data pertaining to surroundings of the trailer. The processor is coupled to the sensors, and is configured to at least facilitate retrieving information as to a profile of the trailer, the profile including required clearances for the trailer based on extensions of the trailer that are configured to be retracted while the trailer is moving and fully extended when the trailer is parked and the extensions are utilized; determining whether any obstacles are in a path of the trailer when the extensions are fully extended, based on the sensor data and the profile; and taking an action, in accordance with instructions provided by the processor, when obstacles are in the path of the trailer.

Abstract: An impact monitoring system for a vehicle includes data processing hardware and memory hardware in communication with the data processing hardware. The memory hardware stores instructions that when executed on the data processing hardware cause the data processing hardware to perform operations. The operations performed by the data processing hardware include receiving sensor data from a plurality of sensors disposed along the vehicle and identifying an impact event based on the sensor data. The sensor data and the identified impact event are compared with a series of impact thresholds, and an impact score is determined based on the comparison of the sensor data and the identified impact event with the series of impact thresholds. The impact score is compared with an impact score hierarchy, the impact score hierarchy corresponding to the series of impact thresholds, and the impact event is monitored using updated sensor data.

The computer memory is configured to store a plurality of known signatures pertaining to a plurality of different types of vehicle theft events. The processor is configured to: compare a signature of the data with the plurality of known signatures stored in the computer memory; and determine whether a vehicle theft event is occurring based on the comparing of the signature of the data with the plurality of known signatures.
