Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present disclosure provides an evolved Node B (eNB) that includes a device-to-device (D2D) module configured to allocate at least one D2D discovery region including at least one periodic discovery zone, the at least one periodic discovery zone including a first plurality of resource blocks in frequency and a second plurality of subframes in time, the D2D module further configured to configure a User Equipment (UE) to utilize the at least one D2D discovery region for transmitting a discovery packet.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for arranging sounding symbol are provided. An example apparatus comprises memory; and processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry is configured to encode a sounding signal. The sounding signal comprises a plurality of sounding symbols, and the repetition of sounding symbols to be transmitted in sequence is avoided.
Abstract:
Techniques for resource block allocation in a multi-user MIMO High Efficiency WLAN system are provided. Specifically, teachings that when taken alone or together, provide a device or a group of devices with an improved resource allocation for the reduction of usable tone waste, are presented. The present disclosure includes a system that provides a user with a technique allocating data tones prior to the encapsulation unit or overhead tones on a resource block unit. Further, the total allocated bandwidth can be reduced prior resource allocation to overcome modulation and coding scheme downgrading caused by severe puncturing. Alternatively, only band edge basic resource blocks are reduced to account for overhead tones which largely reside on band edges.
Abstract:
Technology for a user equipment (UE) to communicate in a device to device (D2D) network. A D2D discovery beacon can be listened for at the UE for a predetermined period of time. The UE can be self-assigned as a D2D cluster coordinator when the D2D discovery beacon has not been received by the UE for the predetermined period of time. A D2D cluster can be formed to enable D2D communication between D2D UEs in the D2D cluster. A D2D discovery beacon can be transmitted from the D2D cluster coordinator to the D2D UEs within the D2D cluster.
Abstract:
Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques to identify the target of a packet in a wireless network. A transmitter node may include a connection identifier to generate a unique identifier corresponding to a connection between the transmitter node and a receiver node in the wireless network and a data packet transmitter to embed the unique identifier into a physical layer convergence protocol header corresponding to a packet to be transmitted to the receiver node. A node may include a data packet receiver to receive a physical layer convergence protocol header corresponding to a packet to be transmitted from a transmitter node in the wireless network to a receiver node in the wireless network and a header decoder to decode a unique identifier from the physical layer convergence protocol header, the unique identifier corresponding to a connection between the transmitter node and the receiver node.

Abstract:
Certain embodiments herein relate to an interleaver based on usable tones of a resource allocation. The interleaver is selected according to the number of usable tones and may be selected for each resource allocation to accommodate the variance in usable tones. The selected codebit interleaver or symbol interleaver may be a block interleaver in which bits are sequentially read in row by row and read out column by column, such that any unfilled entries in the block interleaver are skipped.
