摘要: The present invention relates to a method for detecting particles and a particle sensor arrangement. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and arrangement for detecting particles in a gas flow, e.g. from a diesel combustion engine. The method comprises the steps of; forcing a particle build up on a sensor element of a particle sensor arrangement by regulating the sensor element to a second temperature; wherein the second temperature is lower than a first temperature, the first temperature being the gas flow temperature. Additionally is the particle build up detected at the sensor element by means of a detector. The present invention provides for an accurate method and arrangement to detect and thereby measure particles present in a gas flow, e.g. from a combustion engine.

摘要: A hydrocarbon sensor measures the tail pipe hydrocarbon concentration emitted by an internal combustion engine to determine whether a catalyst has deteriorated beyond a predetermined point with respect to reducing hydrocarbon emissions. Catalyst performance is measured following an engine cold start when hydrocarbons are emitted and compared to catalyst performance when operating temperature has been reached to determine catalyst efficiency.

摘要: A catalytic differential gas combustible microcalorimeter sensor for monitoring the exhaust gas conversion for monitoring the exhaust gas conversion efficiency of a catalytic converter. The catalytic calorimetric sensor disclosed includes a sol-gel processed washcoat and sol-processed catalytically active metal particles. Sol-gel processing creates a washcoat with high surface area and controlled porosity which increases the sensitivity, durability, and reproducibility of the resultant sensor.

摘要: A method is disclosed for operating an electrochemical gas sensor with a measuring electrode pair and a pumping electrode pair. The method includes obtaining a measurement of the interfering species at a location spatially adjacent to a measuring electrode of the measuring electrode pair; and adjusting one or more of an operation or an output processing of the electrochemical gas sensor based on the measurement of the interfering species. In this manner, the measurement of the interfering species may be used to adjust the removal rates of the interfering species and/or to adjust an offset of an analyte measurement to compensate for the presence of the interfering species.

摘要: A system is described using a fuel quality sensor for controlling various aspects of engine operation. In particular, an acoustic wave sensor is utilized to measure viscosity and density of gasoline fuels. This measurement is utilized to predict engine combustion quality during an engine start. Based on the prediction, the method adjusts engine operating parameters (such as fuel injection amount and ignition timing) to achieve improved vehicle driveability and engine combustion.
