摘要： Thermally formed thermoplastic articles can be protected from stress cracking in the presence of stress cracking promoting compounds by forming a shaped article comprising a thermoplastic and a liquid hydrocarbon oil composition. We have found that the liquid hydrocarbon oil composition prevents the stress cracking promoting materials from interacting with the polymeric structure of the stressed container to prevent or inhibit stress cracking in such materials. The methods and compositions of the invention are particularly useful in preventing stress cracking in polyethylene terephthalate beverage containers during bottling operations during which the bottle is contacted with aqueous and non-aqueous materials such as cleaners and lubricants that can interact with the polyester to cause stress cracking particularly in the container base. A process for lubricating a container, such as a beverage container, or a conveyor for containers, by applying to the container or conveyor, a thin continuous, substantially non-dripping layer of a liquid lubricant. The process provides many advantages compared to the use of a conventional dilute aqueous lubricant.

Lubricating compositions of the present invention, especially those designed for use in beverage conveying systems for contained beverages, comprise at least the following components: a) an alkyl alkoxylated (e.g., ethoxylated or propoxylated, preferably ethoxylated) phosphate ester, b) aryl (e.g., aromatic, such as phenol) alkoxylated (e.g., ethoxylated or propoxylated) phosphate ester, c) an aromatic or linear quaternary ammonium antimicrobial agent, and d) a liquid carrier, such as water. These lubricating solutions are capable of providing good lubricity and antimicrobial activity over a prolonged time.

摘要： Lubricant compositions are used on conveying systems in the beverage industry during the filling of containers with dairy products or other beverages. An antimicrobial conveyor lubricant composition according to the invention includes alkyl alkoxylated phosphate ester, antimicrobial agent comprising at least one of quaternary ammonium antimicrobial agent and protonated amine antimicrobial agent, extreme pressure additive, water, and neutralizing agent in an amount sufficient to provide a use solution having a pH in the range of about 4 to about 9. The composition can include an extreme pressure additive and/or a corrosion inhibitor. A method for using an antimicrobial lubricant composition is provided.

These lubricating solutions are capable of providing good lubricity and antimicrobial activity over a prolonged time and under high stress and heavy loads.

摘要： A touchless car wash composition, that can be made from a concentrate and diluted to use concentration using commonly available service water can comprise an ether amine or diamine in particular a fatty ether amine or diamine. The novel compositions are typically free of hydrocarbon solvents and silicone materials that are common in prior art compositions. The compositions are used in touchless car wash processes in which the materials are sprayed in the form of an aqueous dilute solution to remove soil from the vehicle surface. The aqueous compositions are self removing and very small amounts of the aqueous solutions remain to create water spotting on cleaned vehicle surfaces. The novel compositions of the invention can also contain a variety of other ingredients in a fully formulated system. Such ingredients include rapid dewatering of painted surfaces, improved cleanliness of glass and painted surfaces. A substantial reduction of water spotting and concentrates stability. When used in systems using the direct contact between a brush, the friction between the brush and the vehicle surface is substantially reduced.

摘要： The invention includes lubricant concentrate and use solution compositions having an amine compound of the formula,R.sub.1 --O--R.sub.2 --NH.sub.2,R.sub.1 --O--R.sub.2 --NH--R.sub.3 --NH.sub.2,and mixtures thereofwherein R.sub.1 may be a linear saturated or unsaturated C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 alkyl, R.sub.2 is a linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, and R.sub.3 may be a linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl. The concentrate also comprises an acidulant, optionally a stabilizing hydrotrope, and a surfactant. The lubricant use solution resulting from dilution of the concentrate has an amine compound in a concentration ranging from about 10 ppm to 10000 ppm. Also disclosed is a method of lubricating a conveyor system which includes providing a use solution of the lubricant concentrate composition.

摘要： The invention is a lubricant concentrate composition, use solution, and method of use. The lubricant includes amine compounds of the formula, R.sub.1 --O--R.sub.2 --NH.sub.2, R.sub.1 --O--R.sub.2 --NH--R.sub.3 --NH.sub.2, and mixtures thereof wherein R.sub.1 may be a linear C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 alkyl, R.sub.2 may be a linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, and R.sub.3 may be a linear C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, and a corrosion inhibitor. The lubricant composition preferably includes a polycarboxylic acid as a corrosion inhibitor. The composition may also include a hydrotrope, stabilizer, and a surfactant to provide detergency to the composition upon dilution and use. The invention also includes a lubricant use solution resulting from dilution of this concentrate.

摘要： The invention is a process for preventing microbial growth in aqueous streams by applying a C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 percarboxylic acid or mixture of such acids to the aqueous stream and to an automated dispensing system for the percarboxylic acids based on a correlation between oxidation-reduction-potential and anti-microbial levels of the aqueous stream. Generally, the process of the invention is applicable to aqueous streams used in any number of applications such as the application of streams for the transport of food products, e.g. fruits or vegetables, into the processing environment and through the various steps of processing.
