Abstract:
The present invention relates to chlorine resistant crosslinkable silane-containing polyolefin compositions and stabilizer masterbatch compositions, their preparation, and articles made therefrom. These crosslinkable silane-containing compositions contain a mixture of antioxidants, light absorbers and stabilizers that provide resistance to the levels of chlorine used in potable water and to light, thereby extending the useful life of said articles made therefrom, such as potable water pipes and valves, bottles, tanks, and the like.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are cobalt complexes containing terdentate pyridine di-imine ligands and their use as efficient and selective dehydrogenative silylation and crosslinking catalysts.

Abstract:
There is provided a trisiloxane having a 3-(meth)acryloxy-substituted (hydroxylcyclohexyl)ethyl group, useful in making water absorbing silicone-hydrogel films for biomedical devices, such as contact lens, and a process for producing these monomers. This invention also provides for copolymers made from the trisiloxane having a 3-(meth)acryloxy-substituted (hydroxylcyclohexyl)ethyl group described herein.

Abstract:
A silane based additive, rubber formulations including the additive and tires having tread portions made with the additive, together with methods of forming those products, are provided. Uncured rubber formulations in accordance with preferred embodiments of the invention comprise (1) a rubbery primary polymer or polymer blend, such as natural rubber and/or synthetic rubber; (2) reinforcing silica filler; (3) a network forming monomer or polymer, especially a thermosetting network forming moiety, for forming a secondary polymeric network; and (4) a silane containing one or more moieties of the aforementioned network forming polymer. In particular networks which can be generated in-situ are preferred. The cured rubber formulation should comprise the silica, having the secondary polymer network coupled thereto, within the rubber matrix, and not directly to the rubber chains via sulfidic linkages.
Abstract:
A moisture-curable resin composition comprising (a) a moisture-curable polymer having at least one hydrolysable silyl group; (b) a reactive modifier; (c) a catalyst for catalyzing the reaction between the moisture-curable polymer (a) and reactive modifier (b) under curing conditions; and optionally, the composition can contain one or more conventional components, including pigments, fillers, curing catalysts, dyes, plasticizers, thickeners, coupling agents, extenders, volatile organic solvents, wetting agents, tackifiers, crosslinking agents, thermoplastic polymers, ultraviolet stabilizers, and combination thereof. The moisture-curable resin composition is useful in the production of adhesives including hot melt adhesives, primers, sealants and coatings.
