    Abstract: An ammonia generation apparatus is disposed in a stage after a urea water injection unit. The ammonia generation apparatus includes a main body which has an introduction opening for introducing exhaust gas, a discharge opening for discharging the exhaust gas, a first flow passage and a second flow passage which communicate with the introduction opening and the discharge opening and which are separated from each other. The ammonia generation apparatus includes a heating unit disposed in the first flow passage, and a first changeover section which is disposed on one side of the main body where the introduction opening is provided and which can switch the exhaust gas flow passage between the first flow passage and the second flow passage.

    Abstract: A coupling member (180) of a glow plug (100) includes a first bend (183) and a second bend (184) folded in an axis direction OD and a joint section (185) in a tapered shape configured to connect the first bend with the second bend and reduce the diameter toward a rear end side of a body portion. Accordingly, in a limited space formed between a housing (130) and a heater unit (150), this configuration increases the length of the coupling member (180), compared with a configuration without any bend folded in the axis direction OD. This results in decreasing the spring constant k of the coupling member 180 and suppressing extension of the coupling member 180 in the axis direction due to thermal expansion.

    Abstract: A glow plug (100) includes: a housing (130) having a metal shell (110) and a cap unit (120); and a heater unit (150). A coupling member (180) is joined with the housing (130) and is also joined with the heater unit (150) at its edge portion (188), so as to enable the heater unit (150) to move along an axis line O and couple the heater unit (150) with the housing (130). When the edge portion 188 of the coupling member 180 is irradiated with a laser, at least part of the edge portion (188) melted by laser welding fills a gap (50) between the coupling member (180) and the heater unit (150) to form a welded part (210). As a result, even when there is a gap prior to welding, the weld strength between the coupling member (180) and the heater unit (150) can be maintained.

    Abstract: A glow plug includes a housing having an axial hole extending in an axial line direction; a ceramic heater that is relatively displaceable with respect to the housing along the axial line direction and has at least outer surface made of ceramic; and a pressure sensor fixed to the housing and configured to output a signal based on the relative displacement of the ceramic heater. A fixed member fixed to the ceramic heater while the ceramic heater is arranged to an inner circumference of the fixed member. A welded member is welded to an outer circumference of the fixed member. An inner circumferential surface of a portion of the fixed member to which at least the welded member is welded is spaced apart from the outer surface of the ceramic heater.
