Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus and techniques to enhance mobility of single receive (RX) devices. An exemplary method generally includes searching for synchronization signals transmitted by one or more cells while performing one or more mobility procedures and taking one or more actions to enhance detection of synchronization signals, wherein the one or more actions taken depend, at least in part, on a type of mobility procedure performed.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to identifying a cell as a handover candidate in coverage areas based on decoding a secondary synchronization signal and/or a primary broadcast channel of the handover candidate cell. An example method generally includes initiating a search for a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) for a first cell of one or more handover candidate cells, and reporting the first cell as a handover candidate in a measurement report if the SSS for the first cell is detected a threshold number of times.
Abstract:
Cell reselection for transitioning a user device from a macro cell to a small cell may be performed by comparing a first reselection candidate small cell and a second reselection candidate small cell based on reselection criteria, and selecting a final reselection candidate based on the comparison.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, configuration information indicating a wake-up signal (WUS) configuration associated with a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, wherein the WU'S configuration indicates one or more WUS occasions. The UE may identify one or more conditions. The UE may refrain from monitoring at least one WUS occasion, from the one or more WUS occasions, based at least in part on the identification of the one or more conditions. The UE may monitor one or more resources during an on duration associated with the DRX cycle. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a UE determines a completion time associated with a communication event for a wakeup period, the wakeup period characterized by at least radio frequency (RF) circuitry being set to an active state. The UE schedules a transition from the wakeup period to a sleep period at the completion time, the sleep period characterized by at least the RF circuitry being set to an inactive state. The UE performs the communication event during the wakeup period. The UE transitions from the wakeup period to the sleep period at the completion time in accordance with the scheduling. The UE determines, after the transition from the wakeup period to the sleep period, a wakeup time associated with a next wakeup period.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may monitor a channel for wireless communication associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) during one or more of a first active duration or a first inactive duration. The UE may operate in a first power mode during the first inactive duration. The UE may monitor the channel for wireless communication associated with a second RAT during one or more of a second active duration or a second inactive duration. The UE may operate during the second inactive duration in one or more of the first power mode or a second power. The UE may operate according to the first mode or the second mode based on the monitoring of the channel associated with the first RAT and the second RAT.
Abstract:
A method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting an uplink message to a first base station associated with a first radio access technology (RAT). The method also includes transmitting one or more scheduling requests (SRs) to a second base station associated with a second RAT to trigger a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) ON period. The method further includes receiving a downlink message from the second base station during the CDRX ON period in response to transmitting the uplink message to the first base station.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, one or more control signals indicating information associated with a set of occasions for a transmission time interval (TTI) corresponding to a low power operation mode of the UE. For example, the set of occasions may include one or more of a wake up signal (WUS) monitoring occasion, a synchronization signal block (SSB) occasion, a channel state information (CSI) reporting occasion, and a discontinuous reception (DRX) on duration occasion. The UE may determine whether to skip the WUS monitoring occasion based on a respective duration and a respective start time for each occasion of the set of occasions associated with the information indicated by the one or more control signals.
Abstract:
A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a discontinuous reception (DRX), e.g., connected mode DRX (CDRX), and the UE may select a synchronization signal block (SSB) set to perform an SSB warm-up to wake up, search, and measure the SSB set to improve the performance of the UE during a DRX ON duration. The UE may select the SSB set based on a time difference of the SSB set relative to the DRX ON duration. The UE may be configured to wake up to measure one of a first SSB set or a second SSB set having a smaller time difference relative to the DRX ON duration.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may include memory and at least one processor, coupled to the memory, configured to determine a power parameter associated with communication using a first radio access technology (RAT). The at least one processor may be further configured to determine a quality parameter associated with the communication using the first RAT. The at least one processor may be further configured to apply, based on the quality parameter, an offset to the power parameter to form a modified power parameter. The at least one processor may be further configured to transmit a measurement report including the modified power parameter. The apparatus may be a wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE) and, more specifically, a high gain UE.
