摘要: An aqueous solution or dispersion of thermosetting resin comprising a resin, dissolved or dispersed in water in an amount of 5 to 85% by weight, said resin being obtained by solution polymerization of a mixture comprising (1) at least one polymerizable monomer having an amphoteric ion structure, (2) at least one polymerizable monomer containing a carboxyl group and (3) at least one of other polymerizable monomers in a hydrophilic organic solvent and has a number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 30,000 and a glass transition point of -30 to +80.degree. C.

摘要: Ampho-ionic compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein, for example, R is CH.sub.2 .dbd.C(CH.sub.3)--COOCH.sub.2 --, R.sub.2 is hydrogen and B.sup..sym. is --N.sup..sym. --(CH.sub.3).sub.2 C.sub.12 H.sub.25, are prepared by reacting an oxirane compound with sulfur dioxide and a tertiary amine. These ampho-ionic compounds are useful as, for example, surfactants.

摘要: A thermosetting resin which is a linear copolymer having a molecular weight of 10,000 to 1,000,000 and a glass transition point of -30.degree. to +80.degree. C., obtained by polymerizing in an aqueous medium a monomer mixture comprising (1) 0.1 to 50% by weight of at least one polymerizable monomer having an ampho-ionic structure, selected from the group consisting of (i) compounds representable by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each, the same or different, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group, A is O or NH, m.sub.1 and n.sub.1 are each, the same or different, an integer of 1 to 12 and X.sup..crclbar. is SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar., SO.sub.4.sup..crclbar. or CO.sub.2.sup..crclbar. and (ii) compounds representable by either one of the formulae: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.4 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sub.5 is a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group, m.sub.2 is an integer of 0 to 6 and n.sub.2 is an integer of 1 to 6, and A and X.sup.- are as defined above, (2) 0.5 to 70% by weight of at least one polymerizable monomer containing a reactive amide group, representable by the formula: ##STR3## wherein R.sub.6 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R.sub.7 is a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group and (3) 1 to 99.4% by weight of at least one of other polymerizable monomers.

摘要: There is obtained with greater efficiency a powder coating having an average particle diameter smaller and a particle size distribution range narrower than those currently made by conventional methods. The method to obtain the powder coating comprising; introducing a solid mixture of coating materials between a rotor and a stator; the rotor being supported in such a manner as to be rotating round the shaft center and, on its periphery, being arranged with multiple convex lines extending in a direction of the shaft and being lined up along the periphery; the stator having a cylindric rotor-opposite face arranged with a certain interspace between this face and the rotor periphery and having, on the rotor-opposite face, multiple convex lines extending in the direction of the shaft and being lined up along the circumference, wherein the rotor-opposite face is arranged in such a manner as to be capable of opening in order to expose the rotor periphery; and then pulverizing finer said mixture by said rotating rotor and said stator.

摘要: The present invention relates to a two coat one bake coating method in which the aqueous base coating composition and the powder clear coating composition are applied onto substrates in automobile painting processes. In accordance with the present invention, the aqueous base coat contains: (a) a vinyl polymer prepared by copolymerizing 8 to 30% by weight of an amido group containing ethylenic monomer, an acidic group containing ethylenic monomer, a hydroxyl group containing ethylenic monomer and at least one other ethylenic monomer; (b) an aqueous dispersion of hydrophilic group containing oligomers; and (c) pigment. The clear powder coating composition comprises an epoxy group containing acrylic resin, and may carry polymer microparticles on each powder particle.

摘要: A powder coating comprising a thermosetting resinous composition comprising a base resin having 2 or more oxirane groups in its molecule and a hardener for epoxy resin, which is characterized by further containing 0.5 to 10% by weight based on the base resin weight of a vinyl resin containing 1 to 10% by weight of at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid selected from thiomalic acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid and itaconic acid and having a number average molecular weight of 1000 to 8000 and a glass transition temperature of -40.degree. to 100.degree. C. The coating obtained is excellent in smoothness, gloss and image clarity.

摘要: A coating composition contains:(i) a mixture of copolymers comprising (a) 20% to 80% by weight, in terms of the resin solid content, of at least one copolymer selected from the group consisting of silicon-containing copolymers and fluorine-containing copolymers comprising 40 to 60 mol % of fluoroolefin, 45 to 5 mol % of cyclohexylvinyl ether, 15 to 5 mol % of alkylvinyl ether, and 0 to 30 mol % of other comonomers, having an active hydrogen group and (b) 80% to 20% by weight, in terms of the resin solid content, of an acrylic copolymer resin having a solubility parameter greater by 0.5 to 1.5 than that of the copolymer (a) and having an active hydrogen group, and(ii) a curing agent having a solubility parameter greater by 0.5 to 1.5 than that of the copolymer (a).

摘要: A resinous composition for powder coating, comprising (A) an acrylic resin and (B) a hardener, the acrylic resin being composed of (a) t-butyl methacrylate and/or t-butyl acrylate, (b) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a reactive functional group and (c) other ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s) than the said (a) and (b) which is (are) non-reactive with the functional group of (b), the reactive functional group content being 0.0010-0.0046 mol/g of resin, the glass transition temperature being 30-110.degree. C. and the number average molecular weight being 1,000-20,000, and the hardener having in its molecule 2 or more functional groups which are reactive with the reactive functional group possessed by the acrylic resin.The powder coating based on the present resinous composition is useful for the coating of construction material, auto-mobile and the like and is excellent in low temperature curing properties, storage stability and can result an excellent film even when used a stored powder.
