An image processing apparatus, an image processing system, and a method thereof are provided. The apparatus includes: a signal processor which receives a plurality of contents and constructs image frames of the respective contents; an outputter which operates in a first mode to output image frames of only one content, and in a second mode to combine and output the image frames of the plurality of contents; a video telephony processor including an image capturer to capture an image external to the apparatus, the video telephony processor connecting video telephony, if a request for video telephony is received via an external network; and a controller which controls the outputter to determine a combination of the image frames of the plurality of contents outputted through the signal processor, according to an operational status of the video telephony processor.

A display apparatus includes a display which displays a plurality of items, a communicator which receives a pointing signal from a remote control apparatus, a recognizer which recognizes at least one of a voice command and a gesture, and a processor which selects one item among the plurality of items based on at least one of the pointing signal and the gesture, and in response to receiving the voice command regarding the selected one item, performs a control operation based on a keyword extracted to execute the voice command.

A peripheral device management system includes a node terminal apparatus attached to a peripheral device and configured to detect an operating state of the attached peripheral device through a sensor configured to generate sensing data, and a display apparatus configured to receive the sensing data from the node terminal apparatus, to determine the operating state of the peripheral device based on the sensing data, and to display a user interface (UI) containing the operating state of the peripheral device. Accordingly, the peripheral device management system provides an Internet of things (IOT) service to a peripheral device that may not be capable of supporting an IOT service.

A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes an image receiver which receives an image, an image processor which divides the received image into a left-eye image and a right-eye image and processes the same, an image output device which alternatingly outputs the left-eye image and the right-eye image, and a controller which calculates a difference in a pixel value between the left-eye and right-eye images based on units relating to the pixels that constitute the left-eye and right-eye images, detects a crosstalk generating area by using the calculated pixel value difference and a preset response speed of a display panel, and controls so that the detected crosstalk generating area is displayed distinguishably from at least one other area.

A user terminal for controlling a display device and a control method thereof are provided. The user terminal includes a communicator configured to communicate with the display device, a main controller configured to control the user terminal, and a sub-controller configured to control the user terminal while the user terminal is in a sleep mode, wherein the sub-controller is configured to change a mode of the user terminal from the sleep mode to a standby mode in response to the communicator receiving environmental change detection information or user detection information from the display device while the user terminal is in the sleep mode.

The upgrading apparatus for the display apparatus includes: an interface which is connected to the display apparatus and communicates with the display apparatus; a video processor which processes a video signal corresponding to an image displayed by the display apparatus; and a controller which controls the video processor to process the video signal to be displayed by the display apparatus when the upgrading apparatus is connected to the display apparatus through the interface, and controls the upgrading apparatus to operate based on information received from the display apparatus. Thus, the upgrading apparatus operates based on the information of the display apparatus, thereby securing compatibility with the previous-version display apparatus and enhancing the stability of the operation.

The image processing system including an image display apparatus in operative communication with an image transmission apparatus includes an image transmission apparatus configured to transmit image data to the image display apparatus by wireless communication and an image display apparatus configured to receive image data from the image transmission apparatus by wireless communication and display the image data. In response to being turned on, the image display apparatus may transmit a first control signal for booting up the image transmission apparatus to the image transmission apparatus, and in response to the image transmission apparatus being booted up, transmit a second control signal for changing a state of the booted up image transmission apparatus to a power saving state based on previous viewing information stored in the image display apparatus.
